hah, that's pretty much the dialogue that i remember from Akira, probably the coolest anime ever. Anyway, here's my picture of Kaneda

Akira had the weirdest ending in anime history.....

Cool pic. One minor nitpick though...

The eye on the right (character's left) is a little askew. If you line up the inside of the eye directly over the top of the nostril outline, you'll have it fixed.

thanks johnny, i noticed that in photoshop after i scanned it in and really had a good look at it

hey! Pretty nice. One mean, tough looking Kaneda. My fav anime too. You might wanna resize his nose a bit. Right now it's a little too big. Seems it would be better having him holding the phazergun than just having it laying there on the ground....oh.. on the other hand, if he just emptied it that would make sense.... (rambling again, eh?)Are you gonna paint this???

I remember MikeV from the topcow mess. board, right? I did post there some time ago under the name: pvillum.... Is that board still up?

love the settings/details. I know you're doing your own interpretation but the ears/eyes/nose are all a bit off and make him look a somewhat but not entirely unlike a disgruntled monkey. Maybe a more traditional anime "u" or "v" kinda of nose would work better, and smaller ears. Oh and make sure you ink/color it when you're done cause I love akira stuff :)

thanks for the comments, yah now that the simianesque features have been pointed out, i think ill alter him a bit. im currently painting it right now, unlikely it will get inked, though

boomstick you should stop by, yah it's still goin. im gonna fix that eye too heh

The eye needs to be centered a little more to balance the face.

As far as monkey features are concerned, I'd cut back on the ears.

somebody keep me from making a version of the gunnm / battle angel alita / gally / gun dream / whatever the hell you wish to call it poster with alita/gally/#%%(/!)=�"/()#% on her hands and knees and with her torso drawn as a rather er lighty built mechanism.

you know it. it's the alita/gunnm/ba/gajklsag##/)(#% poster you see everywhere.

and speaking of tetsuo, i am in a most utter dire need of tetsuo 1 and 2 in a good quality video in a decent format. mpeg2 or vob or whatever. filesize or effort is not the problem in this case!
