I am completly blind on my right side--(thank goodness it doesnt show) and it does drastically effect my work. Most of my figures have the head, leaning to the left, or are just balanced to the left--it makes most of the things I do unbalanced, I have to force myself to look at the screen or canvas straight on, and actually think hard about keeping my head aligned. Doing self-portraits in class were really tough.
Dont worry, friend. You're not the only one

I seem to skew the images slightly. It doesn't really show in this portrait though.

I lost my site on my right side when I was 10. I relate about having to really concentrate about keeping things in balance.

Well, I did this self portrait about a month ago. Thought I'd post it. It took about 2 hours to do. I drew it through sunshine, a rainstorm, and then disappearing sunshine . . . the lighting might be off . The mirror that I used is also vertically challenged so I may have squashed my head a bit.

My eyesight is terrible (myopia). I have a bad left eye, and a terrible right eye, with astigmatism thrown into the mix. I find that I compensate for my bad right eye by slightly rotating my head . . . attempting to centre my left eye. The point is, in most of my life drawings I find that when I flip the images they're always slightly distorted. I don't seem to have the same problem when drawing from photos.

I just want to know if any of you with bad vision also experience similar problems . . . and how it affects your artistic potential.
