Grumbacher oils are some of the better ones--but most oils are going to be ok for a beginner. To start you need a good yellow, Cadmium red, black, white, maybe an ultramarine blue, and a yellow ochre or a sepia color like burnt umber or sienna--that should getcha started. There are lots of ways to begin a picture, one of the easier ones is to thin some pain with Turpenoid (scentless turpentine) and paint with that. Then just start laying color in layers--darker ones first--then up to your highlights, which look best when put on thickly. That's pretty much all I can tell ya, just experiment, make sure you have some good flat and round brushes, lotsa turpentine, rags, canvas, and maybe some medium or liquin to make the paint easier to handle...good luck!

I�m thinking of getting myself some oilpaints (and cut down on the computer made stuff a bit)
But i don�t know a crap about it, does anyone here know of a good site about oilpainting, or do you have some beginner tips?
