Your art is awesome. How long does it usually take you to do a drawing? I just read your tutorial section, and it seems like you put a lot of time and thought into your pics. Hehe, I just do mine on the fly. I don't have any "steps" I don't refine, etc, etc, etc. I'll try doing steps. It'll help out a lot.
Well, here are some of the pics I did. I've never really taken as much time and effort into my pics, like you do, but if I want to get a job drawing, I'm gonna have to start putting more than half effort. I use the mouse cuz I don't have one of those tablets.
This is the first no outline pic I did.
Here's the second pic I'm working on.
Grey Fox from Metal Gear Solid.
Btw, your site seems to have some problems. It won't load right. When I click on the back button, it won't work, etc.

Another Q.
I seem to have a lot of problems when trying to make details, cuz the pic is so pixelated. What dpi do you work on? I set the Buffy pic to 150 dpi, and I just can't seem to work right. It's still too pixelated, and I don't want to raise the resolution, cuz then it won't load and save fast. I'm one of those peeps who don't have a lot of patience. You can see that I rushed my pics in so many of them. In fact, all my pics are rushed at some points. I don't have enough patience to wait 5 minutes to save my pic. Argh.

Depends on the painter. If I was gona do a nice picture in Photoshop, I'd go with 5000x3000ish. That way you can zoom in really close and control a lot of detail. But the computer I work at right now is way to slow for that high of dpi. The bigger you can make it on your computer, the more control you'll have over it.
Not that it has to be that way, I'm just say'n...

Hey bj1x you just startn up here. You may know me from the FFonline forum gallery. Welcome to where all the big boys are.
Those are nice pics.. especially for a mouse. You know Christmas is just around the corner, it's not to late to ask for a tablet. I told GKsetzer about this place too.
I noticed on your monster you used a photoshop filter to get a texture on your beast's skin. I don't know if that is the way to go. For one thing it makes it look to "Photoshopish" Also when photoshop uses a filter or texture filter it only does it as a flat image. It doesnt follow the shape of his muscles.
Well any way.. Welcome hope to see more of you around the forum, and the FFO forum.

It was either using the filter tool, or creating the texture myself. The filter tool seemed like a much faster solution. Yeah, it's not the best way to do things, like you said, it's too flat, but I just don't have the patience to make a lot of details. I have yet to do a pic where I actually took time to do something. I sometimes start out telling myself that I'm going to put more effort into the pic, and a while later, I'm rushing the pic like a maniac. I really need to learn to be patient, but until then, you'll only see me rushing things over and over. Heck, most of my pics don't even have backgrounds. Pics that DO have backgrounds are half assed excuse that I just used the filter option to "make" the background.:P Don't worry, one of these days, I'll actually do a pic that really shows what I can do....... one of these days.....
An another note, I really need those wacom tablets. I've seen some examples, and man, those would take forever to do with the mouse. Sheesh.
One thing to all artists like Dhabih-I have mad respects for you peeps. I could never have the patience to do a pic with so much effort. Taking one look at you peeps' pics show just how much effort you put into your pics. Mad respects. I don't even like drawing. It feels more like a chore. I was NEVER able to put so much concentration into drawing.

your dpi is going to depend on the size (in inches or whatever) of your page. dpi stands for dots per inch. so if you have a pic thats one inch by one inch at 150 dpi then you're goingto have a pic that's 150 pixels. you should be looking at the maximum pixel size you can get before your computer starts to get slow. it's the pixles which determine the ammount of detail you can get, not dpi. It's hard to recomend an minumum pixel dimension because your computer might not handle it, and it's better to have things running smoothly that having the extra detail. |
