I tried to fix the smoke out of the nostrill,
but somehow the pic here at the forum don't get updated The smoke is there originally
from both nostrills, but it's too weak at the moment. Overall the whole colouring job is sloppy(as always )
loukus: It's fun to do draw different people
once in a while, you know.
Binke: Thanks i tried to fix that, but
i only ended up with the eyes looking even weirder. Wanna give it a try and help me out?
Poxen: Yeah, i might do that. I wanted to keep it pretty clean. I'm going to Denmark tomorrow and i might look into that when i get back
Thanks, Rinaldo.Do you know if mr. Hewlett has a own website? I found some really cool
Brian Bolland covers(My god of ink). I'll send a pic over.

Man, your style rocks. This is gonna sound like some wise old Chinese guy saying, but your style looks simple, yet the images come out complex.
Just for fun: "Wise man once say, 'Simple can be complex, yet complex can never be simple.'" ... anyway, just nod and smile.
Anyway, rad work! Keep postin' more!

I Kinda like the result, but not the way it
was executed. I really love Jamie Hewlett's work and i saw a cover that he did for Tank girl and i got inspired.
Comments?

Hey hey! I like it! Lotsa eyeshadow on that one . but I can't seem to figure out where she's looking. if I try looking like that it hurts my eyeballs.... and the smoke coming from the nostrils... looks like its only coming from one of them... mgiht want to make it both. |

Hi Micke!
nice clean and strong drawing. I like it a lot.
the only thing I have to point out that the leaderbelt around her neck looks a bit flat and not going around her neck.
great work!
cheers

Nice pic Micke
Jamie Hewlett rocks. the only bad thing is that I can't seem to get ahold of tank girl in one book without it being coloured (*cough*I should say defaced). the same for Akira, they brought out a big book in english but it's coloured really badly. they're bringing out a B+W ver of Akira soon, I can only hope that they do the same for Tank Girl. |

micke: excellent take on hewlett's style!
especially the B+W version.. very tank girl.
as for anatomical details, i say leave it the way it is already
and it wouldnt be much of a hewlett if it wasnt a slutty prostitute now would it? heh
now all you need is a halftone pattern, a star, and maybe a bottle of beer that says 'wank' or something similar.
-excellent!

hmmm.......
micke ur pic is really nicely done.
but there is one thing i want to say.
18 comments on mickes postings(or dhabs, or felxibles,....) that say: "oh wow cool pic" are ok.
but i think 18 comments on newbees posts would be more sefull... - newbees posts are ignored by the most people in here(Imo), and thats kinda wired, cos they do need the pros. advice.
(that doestn' mean that the pros posts should be ignored)..

I thought I was giving some critism about the eye, but I dunno, maybe im hallucinating.
Uhm... I think you should rephrase it to "beginner artists" instead of newbies on the forum, because even if you are a newbie to the forum, doesnt mean you are a newbie to the field.

Tank Girl!!!! excellent pic micke! u really got the attitude right down man.
I don't really think it needs any crit but if you had an uzi nine millimetre
to my head I would say maybe the neck juts out a little too much.. or maybe
move the collar further back a touch, i see she is sticking her head out but
something bout that looks a little strange....Hey could you post that bolland
link you have? I haven't found any decent sites with his stuff. I've always
loved his artwork from his early days on Judge Dredd, Camelot 3000 was excellent
aswell...
Rinaldo - if you get the early copies of 'Deadline' magazine, they have the first
b/w tankgirl stories in that. They released them in book form b/w too 'Hewlett and
Martin's Tankgirl' on penguin books label but that was around 1990 soo dunno how
useful that is but maybe you can still get it. |
