About the spooge rework: I don't think it looks better, just darker. Francis seems to have a good control of his values, and his image has a lot of charm as it is. It also looks kinda manga, which is good.
On the opposite the Spooge rework is very dark, moody, and dirty in places. You're also loosing all the neat details of the drawing. I know that Spooge LOVES dark places with an hint of light, and I know he's good at lighting, but frankly making it darker does not make it better. It makes it work actually.
Don't throw stones at me now people, I'm just saying what I think and I don't say I'm right. I just wanted to speak my mind, and hopefully starts something about 'Is darker better?' 'Do we need perfect lighting to make a good image?' |

Hmm I agree with you black fish. I think that there is a fine line in art. It is all about what you are trying to express and being painterly is not always the answer. The only thing that I did not like is that he did not use good line weight and possibly darker lines to break up a room full of objects....of course this pic is neat with all the forum symbols...thing to keep in mind when you are painting comic book style is that you have to keep the line work as strong as the color work or it just serves to make the pic look messy..anyways just my 2 cents

Spooge work is more realistic, Francis' is cartoonist kinda of. I like both of them, each has their own goods. |

I'd say your version is good Spooge but you can't read the McSteed's Racing part. Other than that . . . neat. |

I like it alot, Francis!
The details looks great
The girl in the foreground looks scary to me, like a doll or something, but i think it allready has been mentioned by others.
