OMG!! ROFL!!! What a loser!
Next time, try and do your OWN work, kid. I doubt that'd be possible since you only want to rip other people off. I wish I was there to see your face when your boss discovers this and fires you. You're gonna pay, man. BIG.

I am in shock, I can't believe stuff like this actually happens.
What the hell is this moron going to do when he can't produce something even 1/100th of Craig's quality?
and that this happens on a regular basis to you Craig!!??!! How do you stand it?
If he had even a minor leaugue clue he'd realize he could post his work to this forum, get FANTASTIC critiques of it and learn to improve and eventually become someone of talent. Yeah it takes time, but then he could actually be proud of what he has accomplished.
Revolting of him. I know if I ever meet him, I'd go bullet- time on his lazy ass ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/wink.gif) |

O.K. apparently my link up there to Dhabih's painting is short and just goes to the front page. Click on gallery and then click on the Knight in the rain. THEN you'll see where the trouble is...
Dhabih actually SIGNED Gabe's painting! BEFORE GABE PAINTED IT!!! AAAAAAAUGH!!!
HE'S A WARLOCK!!!

For those of you that came later and are a bit confused here's a brief re-cap.
Spooge posted the URL of a site (www.sector9fx.org/art) that featured about 25 of Craig's pieces, and maybe 4-5 of Dhabib's, all signed by 'Gabe Reiser' with various dates attached to them. I think the prolific era of productivity of Mr. Reiser spanned about 2-3 years. However, as Shane pointed out there was a http://sector9fx.org/dragon.jpg dragon pic that seemed to tower any of Craig's and Dhabih's efforts. Obviously, Mr. Reiser has quite a range.
It seems that shortly after this thread started he decided to take down the images in question.

Is that a High School Homecoming pic?
Perhaps we have our first Gabe Reiser original? Or is this too a stolen item? Perhaps the world will never know.
I just have to say that I'm laughing my ass of, mostly at you Gabe, but a little at Spoogy too, just cause of the rediculous situiations he's put in, and he still tries to act with class. Here's a question: If you aren't very good, and you use Spoogy's work to get a job, then HOW THE HELL can you expect to not be caught? Do you think you can just steal more and more of his work? Sheesh, leave scheming and manipulating to people who can do it right!

Incredible, DAQ. That story takes the cake.
I may ordinarily get mad, but this story just saddens me. Gabe must truly have some deep issues to pull stuff like this.
I mean, even after being busted by the forum and Craig himself, the guy still continues to sell us a load about why he had the images. Yow. |

I'm...lost for words. I didn't see any of it (as usual), but just reading this thread is funny as hell.
Although it probably didn't happen this way at all, I picture this brilliant scene where DAQ'a friend tries to show off the new tallent.
"Check this out...Our new hire."
The other guy nearly falls out of his chair
"Holy crap. Craig Mullins walks into your office to get a job!?!?!"
(some preagnant silence)
"Uh....no.......Uh oh"
Still, I was under the impression that this was fairly common (although not as brazen). Didn't Mongoose have a long list of fake references that got him a list of real ones?
The thing that will always scare me (*lefty side bar warning*) is that some employer could probably take half the people on this forum who just dabble in their own stuff but are keen; with some on the job training and patience, after the consistent focus of the job they're well experienced and skilled in a couple of years.
Sadly, that's not quite the way it works. |

Craig, you should add a section to your web page with all the e-mails you've received regarding your stolen work. And if available, all the lame excuses you get from the perpetrators once you've confronted them.
That would make for some very entertaining reading.
The practicing my signature excuse has got to be the funniest one you've seen though?

Hey all, HI! I'm a first time poster! (not poser) ha ha ha.
Anyway, here's what happened. I happen to work for a large corporation that happens to have a small multimedia department.
I'd love to know what large corporation this is. Not where its located just what COMPANY it was. The reason I'm asking will make sense in a bit.
quote:
About 4 months ago, a 19 year old man strutted in asking for a job. He had, on disk, some awesome illustrations. We hired him imediately based on his portfolio.
Hmmm. It took this COMPANY 4 months to figure out that Lord Mordrid [aka Mr. Reiser] sucked?! I think it would have been apparent the first couple of days that this guy is NOT of Craig's/Dhab's caliber... I think there are pieces in their stool that have more talent than him.
quote:
However, he was not a good worker. In fact, he was terrible. We were beginning to question whether he was as Mac savvy as he claimed in the interview. Often, he didn't show up for work. We fired him 2 weeks ago.
Wait. This is unbelievable. So he wasn't even fired because his art didn't measure up to his 'portfolio', rather he just had a really lousy work ethic?! And this took 4 MONTHS TO REALIZE?!? So if he had been on time, and reliable he would STILL be working there? Is that what you're saying. What kind of COMPANY is this?!
Basically, no offense, Craig I'm taking your portfolio and putting my name on it, afterall, seems like all I have to do after weaseling a job with the COMPANY is show up on time... I can do that I think.

Dhabih should check the IP of these people to make sure they're not the same person/ the actual person. Plus it's just plain fun tracerouting ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/tongue.gif) |

Hahaha I love this forum! It's threads like these, that keep my hatred for the entire human race (a few dozen individuals on this forum are exempt however ) alive! Way to go! We need to start a dictionary of digital art lingo...Here...I'll get it started!
Threnodizing (adj/adv):
Threnodize/Threnodized: To have painted over a screen capture or photograph, leaving image compression artifacts from the original media visible, and disappear suddenly.
Reising (adj/adv):
Reised/Reis[er] (possessive): To have stolen the artwork of another individual, replacing signature and claiming copyright for yourself, and later professing no knowledge of potential damage.
Any more submission? Come on...I'm sure someone can think of one for Mongoose!

Binke: 5 points for that joke .
Everyone else; I think we get the idea now. We don't really need every single person in the forum trying to find new and more creative ways to put him down...

*** The MYTH revealed ***
Hey all, HI! I'm a first time poster! (not poser) ha ha ha.
Anyway, here's what happened. I happen to work for a large corporation that happens to have a small multimedia department.
About 4 months ago, a 19 year old man strutted in asking for a job. He had, on disk, some awesome illustrations. We hired him imediately based on his portfolio.
However, he was not a good worker. In fact, he was terrible. We were beginning to question whether he was as Mac savvy as he claimed in the interview. Often, he didn't show up for work. We fired him 2 weeks ago.
Before we fired him, a co-worker sent some of his illustrations to a buddy (who works in gaming) to show off our new talent. It was he who discovered the fraud and emailed Craig. Then told us we were lucky for getting rid of him.
I tried to befriend him while he was here. Asking him his techniques etc.. while pointing to one of Craigs pieces. The kid lied right to my face on several occassions discussing "his" methods of sketching, scanning and then painting in Photoshop. He also told me that his piece "Stonerose" (Dhab's) was a study in lighting and that he started it off w/ 3D primatives to see how the light falls and went on to do the painting.
Oh yeah, did I mention that he said something about being a pro-golfer.
...poor kid (not). He's definately got issues! |

Gabe, if you ever check back which i hope you do, you have commited the cardinal sin.
In real life, we would actually beat you. We're not trying to be funny, what you did was sick. Again, the CARDINAL SIN. Just know that most of us want your head on a pike, and we would (in real life, no joking) hurt you badly. never ever EVER touch someone elses art you human scum.

Yes I find this sort of thing very distressing. I feel very sorry for the guy. spending more time figuring out ways to bulshit about how they did something they didn't than learning themselves. I mean you all act as if it's easy to kid yourself about this sort of thing. It requires life absorbing mental effort (seriously). I've know people who do this in one form or another (not drawing but other stuff) they are consumed by the false reality. When it comes down to it most of us in the visual industry (and especialy those in advertising/design) know that perception is the only reality. You can see that he is desperatly scrambling to pull all the broken piecec of his shattered fraud together. I think that he posted that pic of Dhab's (it still has dhabs sig non?) to verify his story about putting other's work on his site.
The personality that does this is just going to retreat deeper into it's shell. there is very little chance of the reality actuialy getting through.
Gabe if you're still listening the best thing to do is simply admit it. get some help or you may find this scenario reacuring.
