ahh... he is looking over his shoulder because his friend has just busted into the bar.... they have cornered the "clowns" nearby =) (a rival biker gang..)


incase you didn't know, this is from the anime "Akira" which i still consider the best cartoon ever made.

hmm, maybe it's cus he's so intricately shaded, and then his eye is all cartoony (heh does look like Kaneda though,) simplify the shading a bit, and uhm... if there's a highlight on his ear, where is it on his cheek? or his jacket for that matter, I mean it was a red jacket I believe

well, that is how the shading is in the reference pic i used..... the eye is just an odd shape.. my eyes aren't very good so i tend to draw things on a slant.

i have probably seen more anime than you =) as far as style and overall quality goes.. akira is still the king daddy if you ask me =)

The things that make Akira so great are the little things. When they produced the movie they were animating a lot of little things that even Disney wouldn't want to spend time with. What it delivers is a vibrant movie that seems full of life and not so different from our world.

I know this guy that has watched this movie so many times and he is always talking about something new he saw. Always a new detail that was animated

I think I like "Ghost in the Shell" better.
Although, the story is really twisted (and the movie ends in a really strange way).
