I actually posted the preliminary sketch of this image in a previous topic, but I haven't got any answer, so I'm posting a newer version of it. I know it's not very original, but it's difficult for me though I've never got any art classes at all, and I made it without any reference. Please comment (I'm not getting too much feedback lately).
Dammn my crappy english!

Looks pretty good, except the eyes look a little too small... maybe make each eye around...50% wider?

Ok Visigoth, now I see it. I'll fix it but it would have been nicer to have got the same comments for the sketch. I'd have saved a lot of time. Thanks anyway! |

Oop! I didn't realize you had posted the sketch here as well! My bad...hehe
Some quick notes about faces, as far as proportions go...(for head-on views):
The eyes are spaced one eye-width apart.
From the outer edge of the eye, to the edge
of the face, is one eye width.
From the top of the eye, to the bottom of the nose, is two eye widths.
From the bottom of the nose to the bottom of the lower lip, is one eye width.
From the bottom of the lower lip to the bottom of the chin, is one eye width.
Granted, there will be slight variations as with every person, but faces follow this general set of rules.

I haven't seen the sketch, so sorry for not commenting before. But, there's more mistakes than the eyes, as visigoth pointed out.
1. infact, the eyes can be that small, but it must all follow the perspective. Both the mouth and the eyes don't. Also, the nose are wrong in the nostril area. Esp. the wrinkle that goes around the nose, which you have made from out from the nose.
Try to look at your face in a mirror and compare, and you will easily see what's wrong.
Also, the light on the face doesn't always follow the underlight direction, esp. around the mouth....
Hope you don't think I'm harch, not trying to be Just that you seemed interessted in getting constructive critiscm.
Here's a very quick brushover I did, also a grey with red lines that might help you understand the perspective lines in that angle with an open mouth.

Thanks you all, guys. I like this forum for it's constructive criticism.
Visigoth: The most clear and simple notes about proportion I've ever seen. Tons of thanks!
Joachim: Oh men, you depress me! You say "Well, here's a hiper-quick lame 15 seconds sketch I made to show you what's wrong" And it's way better than mine!. I hate you man
