thank you guys for writing a comment!

mattready: You are right about the framing and the contrast. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I didnt scan in the pictures but I took a shot with the digital from far away because of the strong flashlight. I will scan in later the same picture and please check it up if you like it better

Rinaldo: I am really happy you like my staff, it gives real encouragement to me. The trouble with me is that I always would like to be better than I am and hope the next drawing will be it, and rather forget about the staff I did just now. To present my older stuff is a big step for me.

Binke; thanks for the comment, I am working at Aniware in Uppsala. Where are you from in sweden, are you working with games?

cheers
to all
Eckhardt

the first couple of images are not loading. and first off, he is extremely talented, but you seem to be on the way. these look very good.

the only thing i can see wrong is the way you are framing your drawnings (too far away), and a lack of really contrasting values (make your shadows darker, highlights brighter).

very nice though....

well I think they look pretty darn good. if you get timid when faced with someone who kicks as much as feng then you'll be there for a while. there will always be someone who is better.

I like the movement and character you've got with the monster/creatures. and that thing that's spitting out bubbles looks cool

I for one am glad you posted them.

When I wrote the answers to your letters, I accidently killed my first letter, so all the answers to your posts are on the top of the list. _ have a look there.

Mattready; here comes a picture I scaned in not using the camera, is it better?

cheers

Eckhardt-the renderings are very clean and distinct. The creatures are awesome.

The mechanical stuff could still use some better understanding of mechanics. As artists, we aren't required to understand mechanics, but as designers there is a certain need for this, as your concepts are designed for later use, either in movies, animations, or some sort of medium of visual story telling. The concepts are very cool, but I think just a bit more redesign would help the mechanic features.

This stuff, the mechanical stuff looks like it was psuedo inspired by the Wild Wild West remake. Very Industrial looking...nice work overall...

Nice drawings. It would be nice to see some coloured stuff. Your work with the marker on the last picture is drop-dead beautiful.

Hi Fred,

thanks a lot for writing and all the teaching you gave to the forum, I loved your stuff, learned a hell of a lot from you only by reading. I never wrote a comment because so many people before me wrote the things I would like to have said.

You are dead on with the mechanics, I am going to look into it. The trouble is only that I even lack the basic understanding of mechanics, I am self-learned and worked the last 10 years in the animationfield doing classic cartoonfilms.

I was tired to do hunderts of drawings for small movements and took the chance when it came to jump off the animationwagon. Now when I design things; like houses, mechanics etc. I can see my lack of understanding. :-(

I designed the machines only by feeling and look. Later when the guys here at aniware build my machines in 3d, I got a lot of quetions like that: "Is this like this ... or do you want to have it like that... Eckhardt".

Therefore I had to smile when I saw your letter because it is dead on.
When I know more about technic I will go over my designs again and make them work.

The game is set into Jules Verne times and full with that heavy steam machines look.

/cheers
E
