[General Confusion]

This may sound as basic as a tablet question to most of you, (hopefully, I won't get a paddling or it may not. What do you guys do to maintain consistency regarding what you see on your monitor, to what you see through your browser, and maybe, to how you eventually see your stuff printed?

I know of the troubles related to the print industry with ICC profiles and such. I know that there is a process involved to achieve this "cross the board look!" And it's not easy. (does this fall into that category, if so, I'll shut up and walk away)

If not, are there any methods to keeping a nice color to web posted images? I'm not looking for a, "you push this button, and poof", solution, cause I know all too well, it never works out that nicely. What I am interested in are maybe some ways you guys go about combatting this problem. Out of all the images I have posted on here and the web in general. They always, without fail, look totally different from how I originally perceived them. Since I am not a web guy, I'm just wondering???

If this topic has been dealt with here before, could someone lead me to a link, I'd appreciate it , if not any helpful tips are welcomed.
