looks nice.... but it seems like the perspective is a bit off, I mean the house in front compared to the blocks behind. I haven't phshop up at the moment, so I can't check, but have you drawn up some perspective lines to check ? A street with some people would have looked really good in this sketch too

hi there joachim.
well, may be the perspective is a bit off... seems correct to me tho i'll try to find what's wrong with it...and post it a fixed version tomorrow perhaps. adding some people would be cool too. i'll try to do that as well. i must admit that i haven't drawn all the perspective lines... anyway, feel free to post your fixed version. thank you very much joachim

I think the perspective is right but it does look a little off. Having the bottom of the house almost directly on the horizon line can do that sometimes, also having the tree where it is, blocks the corner, and things like that can sometimes confuse a picture. Good work though. |

Something i noticed was the curb of the sidewalk comes down to a point in the middle and goes back on each side. The house, however is just straight and doesn't follow the same lines, kinda confusing. |

Sear, since you can't spot your mistakes, let me help you out a bit.
The big problem: The front house and the background buildings are not in the same perspective environments. There are also small perspective problems all over the buildings, but that can be corrected if you get the big shapes right first.
The front house is converging to the left vanishing point at a very high angle, while the back building is in a more "normal" perspective setting. Get a ruler or something straight and align it to the perspective lines of both buildings. You'll see that instead of converging, they are seperating out of perspective (or going to different vanishing points). If i wasn't at work, i could do a sample, but try it and you'll get it.
After you get the major perspetive lines down, you can then fix all the windows, balconies, etc that are not in perspective. And try to keep your verticle lines straight.
Since this is a building sketch w/ many simple shapes, it is very easy to spot all the perspetive mistakes. Try flipping the image upside down....you'll see that the perspective will get all messed up (meaning there are mistakes).
hope this helps..

OK i could be totally wrong... But I'm pretty sure that your perspective is off. There are a few common ways to draw 3d, but since this is a corner.. there are a basic three. (from what i've been taught of straight 3d drawing, that is)
First: Don't use any perspective. Might look ok but loses all 3d look. (lines go straight off into the distance.) Ugly. Here's the 2 second example:
Second: One point perspective. Pick ONE vanishing point off in the distance that all lines disappear to.
Third: Two Point perspective. I think this is what you were trying to achieve on this.. most common for this type. Pick 2 vanishing points, and the lines meet at one point (a corner). Your problem is, you stuck a corner with two sets of vanishing lines coming off of it on the corner of EACH building.
Notice that above, none of the lines are at the same angle.
They all need to be the same angles, like demonstrated above. This is quite ugly.. but hopefully you get the point.
Nice drawing btw.
Hope it helps.

I think the reason teh perspective looks off is that he house is built on a slant. Also the roof of the house lines up almost perfectly with the lines of the slanted part of the roof. Although it may be correctly drawn it throws me off a bit |

ok guys... CHEERS! thanks for taking the time to reply to my post.
delucubus: you're right man, i gotta fix the sidewalk.
vortx: well, again you're right. thanks for the tip, i'll try to remove all those mistakes. cheers
paqmann: heeeeyyyy... huge thanks for highlighting my faults with illustrations. it helps me indeed. you're right when you said that i was trying to work with the so called 2 points perspective. and i guess my problem that i was working on a too small shit and that means i couldn't draw the 2 vanishing points... which is a pity
anyway, thanks for the support. great help ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |
