Hey all, i've been working on this monarch butterfly picture... it's for my girlfriend; she had wanted this old crappy butterfly picture i did waaaaay back, but instead im going to surprise her with this MUCH better one for her birthday friday. I definately used a photo reference, for about 15 minutes to lay down the basic shapes and then i took it from there. Drawing this has been good practice for my rendering skills (whatever they may be). This is my second real digital pic, btw. Any comments / criticism / whatever is appreciated, hope you enjoy. =) |

I like it. I think you should probably define the flowers a little more since the grass and leaves behind it are pretty defined. |

I think it looks very nice.
she should be pleased
The flowers look a bit fuzzy to me. no real hard edges. if you look at flowers there are usuialy some really nice defined delicate edges. |

Thanks guys... the flowers are one thing i pretty much didnt touch since my first session on this pic. I would fix them up, but it's too late, I already had it printed and framed This one place that does photo restoration has some $10,000 printer that prints this stuff out photo quality. Pretty cool. Thanks again. |
