Hey Gents.
In response to my co-workers who wanted me to post SOMETHING I decided to post a little comicbook coloring that I do freelance when I'm not being a texture monkey. Also I think there were some questions in the past on the subject that I never got in on. So here's a quick set of pages I did for a book called steampunk.(Thanks to Chris Bachelo and Cliffhanger for letting me post this,he's a super cool guy!)
Next time I'll post some sketches and stuff that I paint from scratch as well.
Comments welcome!

Wow, that's awesome. Kinda grainy and pixelly, but the coloring is well-done anyway. |

Welcome to the forum. Really cool pic you have there. Do you have a bigger version of it? I'd like to see the detail on Cole. You know Chris Bachalo? I'm so jealous of the members of this forum.
Fred Flick Stone: You mean to tell me you haven't developed a Sijun Handbook for new members to pass out to everyone at presto? All of them seem to mess up on their first post. |

I think you all need to know that this guy kicks ass, and thinks he is in a 3 year slump...bah to that. He is very, very good. Not only at textures, and drawing, but at this his other little genius he is, comic coloring. He is a photoshop guru, and everyone on the forum interested in comic coloring should be knocking on this guys door, and Liquid's. Both of them rock the casbah. James this kicks ass, keep posting more images...yeah... |

Hi Magpie! And welcome to the forum!
Excellent picture. I really like the clouds on it. Look neat. Look like Monkey Island III stylish. A bit. I would like to know that what was the original resolution of this pic? Because it looks some rough this way. I don't know.. also that guy on the left side looks a little rough, too. I think that this is because of those many many details on it. The lights and shades are nice too. How much it took to draw and paint? Umm... maybe nothing more. Keep up your good work!

Well, I've never met Chris. I just have worked on his book and talked a lot with him.
As far as the resolution of the pic, I guess I could try to post a higher rez one, but it's pretty memory heavy, I'll see what I can do. |

Hey Magpie, Welcome
Steampunk is one of my favorite books. This is way too cool.
Your colouring looks fantastic.
although I would add that pic is pretty small and it's bordering on pixelated as a result. if you could post a bigger version it would be good. It would do your work better justice.
There was a thread a while back where I was asking about other poeple's colouring techniques. http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/Forum2/HTML/004912.html
I explained the method I was using there. Got any tips or comments? (Please )
Hehe... just following Fred's advice. you certianly look like you know your stuff.
Post more pics
