Hi,
Man, it's been ages since I've been here. Great to see the place hasn't changed Still great stuff being posted here and some really awesome talent arriving all the time.

I just wanted to let anyone who is interested know that I've updated my page with a bunch of stuff, some traditional as well as digital.

I'm posted a few of the ones that are up there here, a character concept, cyberpunk not very origial I know. also a digital sketch Unholy Requiem and a paint sketch in acrylic, I did a while ago.

oooppp... you fixed the links...

really like the cyberpunk guy, the textures and colors in his shoulders are really fascinating, kinda translucent and yucky. the yellow in combination with the cool colors gives him a very unhealthy look. what medium did you use? i also really like the woman with the horns, do you have any plans on finishing it?

Very very nice stuff Kyri! Welcome back! =)

Those are very nice, I like them a lot! The skin on the cyberpunk guy, very well done... love the colors, wow, and your female bodies are very nice too! How do you get such nice realistic tones? Teach me! =))

cheers!
frost.

Wow, some nice stuff. Loved the textures on the cyberpunk image. Can't so I know the character but where his left arm joins the shoulder doesn't look wide enough, particularly strong enough to carry the arm attachment. The pose doesn't look 100% convincing. The top of the body is hunced over (shoulders) but the back looks like it is almost vertical. Maybe if you just stand up yourself, hunch you shoulders forward a little and take note of how your back follows the hunch and curves a little. This will also give it a feeling of depth. I really do like the image but it just strikes me as being a little flat and I think it has something to do with the fact that the pose doesn't look 100% fluid (if that makes any sense).

I loved the hallway scene with the character with the gun and the alien. I love the style with whites highlighting stuff. How do you actually do this. Do you start with a black page and add white or go the other way (white and keep adding black).

Phreaknasty, thanks for trying to help with the links. I hadn't realised you had, but cheers mate The cyberpunk is actually digital, painted in photoshop. I have sort of got a technique where I scan in sections of some of my paintings and overlay them ,over work that I have
painted in photoshop using layer options to try to get some of the textures from
the paint strokes to give the work more of a traditionaly painted kind of look. I hope that makes sense.
The woman painting, I have no plans on finishing, but I may try develope her into some sort of a character.

Frost, cheers mate Glad you like the work.
Hey man I think you are rapidly developing into a really excellent artist and you could
probably teach me a lot more than I could teach you man.

Thanks, Matt I agree with you about the pose, it is awkward looking, and not very natural. In my defence tho, I did want the character to look like he had some deformity to his trap area and if you could see him from the side would have a
bit of a hunchback from having to carry aroung the big saw, yeah a likely excuse Kyri, heh, heh The idea behind the attachment is that a cable conected to the saw is supposed to be going through
the stump of his shoulder and attached under the skin to the small bit of metal above that's supposed to be a screw holding it in place. Yes, I know I'm crazy, lol.
For the b/w digital piece I actually paint onto a black canvas, with big brushes to begin with and then use smaller brushes
to neaten it up. I think Micke has done some excellent tuts on this style of painting digitaly and had put them up here at one time.

Damn Kyri, u really outdid yourself with that cyberpunk picture! The skin tones, muscle structure, and colours are friggin awesome. Very similar in style and theme to some concept art I saw awhile ago for Digital Extremes "Dark Sector." This pic is really quality man! Ok, seriously fess up...u pulling a mongoose?

Pic 2: The anatomy seems a bit bonked, but eh, the subject matter is cool, so I'll forgive u this time. The chick's butt seems too high up.

Pic 3: This is a cool sketch man. U should consider doing this as a full colour. It has a nice style to it, and the anatomy seems pretty solid.

Pic 4: Man, i just love these black and whites. They ooze style, sorta like u ooze loserness.

Hehe. take it easy bud. Oh yeah, i'll be contacting u soon about 3dp. We're getting our own server me thinks, and u be coming back eh?

wooouah, your paintings are amazing! i especially love that cyberpunk pic, it reminds me some simon bisley (don't get me wrong, i don't say it's a copy or something, just talkin' about the colors and style a bit), and given that bisley is one of my favorite artists, take it as a compliment
nice nice work. your sketches got soul too.
give us some more

Very cool work, welcome back.

I especially like the style of the cyberpunk
character as well as a lot of the digital
paintings on your site.

So nice seeing you again Kyri, welcome back!

I agree with those before me.... the CyberPunk is most impressive... the skin tone is incredible, along with those massive muscles , he's looking most unstoppable, not to mention he's armed and ready to carve the turkey at a moments notice

I think my fav of your new additions would be sketch #3 at your site and would love to see that painted, it's very mesmerizing...

As always Kyri, fantastic additions to your Galleries...

Heya Immi, cheers man, glad you liked the cpunk pic. I've seen the dark sector concept art and really liked the style, very realistic and gritty, and it's what I try for with my art, usually with limited success. Hey wataya mean man, Mongoose has mastered the artform of taking credit for others art to such a degree now that is unatainable, and is totally in a leauge of his own. ;P
Yes the anatomy on the second pic is very bonked and I did notice that but kinda liked the odd look it had even tho the anatomy was not very realistic.....yeah, ok then, I just couldn't be bothered to fix it,
heh, heh.
Hey man I'll be waiting to hear from you about 3dp, I definetly wanna come back on. Infact, if I don't hear from you soon, I'm gonna come find you, chop your bolloks off and hang 'em up on the wall as a
trophy...then again they prob won't make much of a trophy, heh, heh.

Cheers Sear, hey Simon Bisley is one of my favourite artists also, that guy just keeps churning out one incredible picture after another, and is truly amazing, being compared to him is a great compliment but
I am not in that leauge, but thanks for saying that

Cheers Spitfire and Dude, much appreciated.

Kat, thanks so much, I think Cyberguy would be great for carving the turkey at Christmas time, heh, heh. ;P Glad you liked the work.
