I drew this picture last night, inked it, and then started coloring it in Photoshop. I'm just using a mouse, my Wacom is currently in the mail, and I'm wondering what tips you can give me to not make it look so cartoony.

Hiya! What's wrong with cartoony?!?! just kidding...
Well, the black outline is going to make anything look cartoony. You've got the right idea on the jaw and nose areas where there aren't outlines. So, axe the line, and you're on your way.
Instead of using lines to define shapes, you'll have to use color value and shading/shadows to make the person look more "real". Take a look at stuff around your room, or yourself for reference. Look how there isn't a black line around your hand... notice the color and the shadows that make it look 3D. Then, apply this to your pic.
This isn't really my style (I'm no good at real stuff... I'm better at cartooning), so I dunno if my advice helps or not, but good luck with the rest of the pic!

I'm not done with it yet, but before I really go to finish it I want to see if I can pick up some new ideas or ways I can improve on what I already have done. I want to finish it this way just to say that I did, and then when I get my Wacom I'm going to color it again and see which is better, and if it was worth my money (it had better be!)
