I decided to do a 40k sketch after seeing some of psionics stuff. I just can't seem to get his right arm (mainly the bicept) looking okay.

Hey nick!

I'm no expert on anatomy (by ANY stretch of the imagination ), but I think you want to bring the forearm down a little and closer to the torso. As it is at the moment, the forearm looks uncomfortable being "straight on" to the viewer like that - his elbow is acting like a Universal Joint which isn't good. The upper arm has to go into the "back" of the forearm, and you've got it going into the side - the upper arm should be more front-on, like the forearm.

This probably makes no sense - I'll do a sketch as soon as I FINALLY get my PC setup. That could take a while tho, so please, other people, dive right in!

I only really posted this to say "Hi", and

"H A P P Y 2 1 s t B I R T H D A Y !"

phew, glad I got that off my chest! I'll get ICQ setup again sometime soon - sorry I couldn't be there on monday!

Okay, I'll stop blatantly abusing this forum, and sign off with a final pic comment - the left arm is waaay too short. I'm not sure if it's just the gauntlet, but there seems to be no upper arm there at all!

Right. Bye bye ceenda - later!

JayBee: He he, thanks. Monday was great. Mind you, the pint of Caffreys + Aftershocks + Tequila left a rather bad taste in my mouth...

:O ...ooooOOOOOOO

Bizarde: That is fantastic!!! That is exactly the kind of stance I'm aiming for. My landscapes and backgrounds are usually okay but my portraits sometimes suck so I need to practice.

Also, I have a new WACOM to practice on.

Bizarde: shouldn't the right hand be rotated by 180 degree (and the arm in the proper position)?

Bizarde's sketch is cool but the guy's right arm makes it look like he's dancing or something :-P

Bizarde, I really like your anatomy and line work in that picture. However, I think the pose you put him in doesn't fit the character. It is a little... girly. I can't find the right word for what I'm saying. This guy is in the army, and should have a more solid pose (like ceenda's one)

Hmm, ceenda, nice work, but i don't think its the arm on the left thats doing the trouble, i think the arm on the right is too thick, it sets off the proportion of the other arm, try making it a bit skinnier. And also why does one arm have a glove and the other doesn't that could probably mess u upo on the proportion too, make the arms in proportion, then draw the glove over it. Nice Site

ceenda: your nice words make me proud...8),oh,your "landscapes and backgrouns" are not "usually okay" they are really...GREAT!!and about your portraits skills i hope time will fix it,you deserve it!! btw i dont know if wacom is the best medium for drawing, but ofcourse is a personal opinion.i wait your good stuff...8)

tanis: yeap,looks wired...8(
moonlord: thanx...well...u need only pencil&paper...8)
alien&sushimaster: for half year i had to draw only gratious ladyes, thats why is "...a little...girly" and "...look like he's dancing or something" excuse my girly poz tendency...
plop: yeah,Aaeon Flux...rocks
yourmum: ...thanx

i'm feel guilty for all this, you know this IS NOT my thread because it supposed to help Ceenda and his anatomy problem...excuse me Ceenda.

He he, no apology necessary bizarde!

I look at your sketches and think, wow, that is inspiring. You seem to get the sense of action just right in your pics.

I'm going for a Sijun sabbatical(holiday) to try and work on some new stuff.

In the meantime, here's a work in progress pic that I've kinda stopped working on.

See you around people!

The right arm is a bit out of line, maybe making it longer because I do not see any form of a elboy in there. Can't wait to see the finished product. Nice castle picture also, reminds me of that video game called worms, anyone ever played it?
