a little landscape/mountain picture or whatever no reference used.
I could use some suggestions on what to add, the space to the left looks a bit too empty to me. I thought about adding some more houses, but I'm not sure.
Don't ask me why there is a simple house on the ground & hitech stuff on the mountain.
Also there are two moons..becauuuuse...this is not earth. But it looks like earth hehe, think "starwars".

well I like this ''emptyness''
I wouldn't make any big changes
but if you want to add something
my suggest would be to make a stronger
''colorchange'' between sky and horizon
(-->sunrise-effect)
boy I hate my english.
or you could add some wagon/person..etc
who is returning home

that one looks nice.
maybe you want to add some sky-background color with low opacity to the plain in the distance to give it more depth, also a few rocks on the ground could have fallen from this big rock there.
maybe add some mounds like this on the plane in the distance too and a foggy rockpart on the right?

Cool image, Binke... very nice rocky texture there. However, it's a bit lacking in its composition.. try adding another depth plane- either background or foreground, and work some more on your negative spaces. |

I think a Mutant Space Monkey might really add something to the atmosphere you got going there....

ohyea, forgot to say, that the pic is unfinished, thus asking for the advice
silber: hmm, yea I heard someone else say that too, ill think about it, thanks.
Icannon: Thank you. Well you can't see the background on the right of the rocks, because it's supposed to be like on the end of a big cliff. But I dunno.. you think I should add the BG there? And what! Those moons are cool hehe
Dryfire, nex: sounds like a good idea, with the rocks & the sky, thanks.
Bilbo: thanks. And yep it's lacking in the composition, but I got stuck on what to add, but now I got some suggestions, so ill work some more on it tomorrow.

Probably because you were too upset about the missing frogyurts. I'll package some up right away and UPS them to you. `To: Binke, Sweden' right? I'll pack 'em in rusty razor blades so they don't get damaged.

I think you could get away with that empty space if you spice up the sky a little. A lot. Maybe make a bright sunset with big bright clouds and flying pigs. Wait, wait, don't add flying pigs. Or do it. Either way.

Binke - looks good. I think some kind of
activity would look good on the left. Some
kind of vehicle returning or even a bon fire
with people around it.
I also think that the big moon should have
some faint texture to it like craters or
something.
The mountain is great though!
You might even want to talk to loki about
putting one of his airships in there somewhere.

Ok, maybe some sign of life that's responsible for the huts and a landscape that receeds into the background towards the right of the earth tower-so that it doesn't look like there's a drop off into the end of the world. Other than that it resonates well as a landscape. Nice ambient quality! |

Heya Bink, I say add in a forest around the spire, but thats only because I'm into that fanciful sort of thing. A ring of darker green would add a sharp contrast to the lighter browns of the spire.
Also since you have two moons, I must assume this is not earth. That means you should feel free to add something improbably to the sky such as a slight world ring, or maybe an aroura. That would help fill in the sky, and, if done in a semi circular fashion, would help keep the viwer's focus down where you want it, on the spire
Hope this helps!

hey Binke-o,
maybe add some detail on the left? like, the mountain seems to be very detailed and the ground is not...
and there seems to be a perspective problem on the mountain? that makes it look more like a 'bump' than a mountain
and YES, it's a nice pic overall

really good work Binke
but i think there should be more emphasis on the the water pouring down the mountain...
it looks too much like trickling of small beads of water, unless this equivilant to the size of ant hill or something relitavely small. I'm not sure...
but perhaps some water gushing out of an area, sort of like a waterfall ...

Ok - read all the posts, and I really like the loneliness/desolation, which is where I think this piece should go.
I'd actually ADD more space to the left of the mountain, even so far as shrinking the mountain down by say 1/3, and increasing the proportions of the pic to widescreen (say 16/9). I think that would nail this down.
Secondly - the moons should be about half the opacity they are now.
Love those waterfalls!

damn! that looks a lot nicer. i love the setting sun.
the top looks so empty.. it's ackward. try adding some wild cloud effects, or maybe some subtle cloud effects. just try making things a little wilder up there. if not wilder, then plainer :] |

Here's an idea: why not just do away with that empty top bit, move the moons down a bit and crop the picture about a centimetre (on screen) above the mountain (I mean cut everything above that line away). Then the composition would be better imho...
Looks great btw!
