Hey, Francis.
Here's one I did a couple weeks ago with lots of lasso, polygonal lasso, and default brushes. I was basically trying to get this sketch done quickly, but I quite liked the method. This was about a fifteen minute or so sketch for a project; I did several others. Anyway, I really liked your Batman. So cool.

Neat. I do like the way it gets away from that default brush opacity look that says "photoshop painting," at least with my own stuff. Can you post the others as well? Do you have any that you spent a longer time on?

Thanks. I can't post the others until a week or so, because they are part of preproduction on a project. But they aren't much to look at. The whole look of the project is pretty flat, so the paintings (some of a village) are mostly academic. In these I was mostly looking for a color palette. Some of the others are more finished, so I'll try and put them up soon

I like it AliasMoze.

the other thing you can do is have stuff on different layers. make a new layer and then paint the shape (without opacity) then merge. it's the same but you can get some different lines.

And yeah show more

Jaffa, yeah. It looks a little like paper cutouts.

Gambit, thanks!

Rinaldo, thanks. I use a combo of layer and masks. I'm basically experimenting. I think I've finally made some progress in the basics, as I've had to do a crapload of paintings lately. Values, Saturation, and Color are coming much more naturally to me (I still have much to learn, though). So, experimentation like this is a bit more comfortable. Ironically, I've found myself sketching more and more things from the ground up in PS, with no pencil sketches at all. There's a certain mental leap that has to occur, allowing me to get more into painting mode, instead of drawing mode. It's healthy and pretty darn exciting. Well, off to bed. I will definitely keep practicing.

YourMum, thanks, man. I will show some more from this series, as soon as the NDA allows, which will be in about a week or so.

Thanks everyone for the comments and interest.
