Me again..
I'm working on my next painting,and here are some sketches of the main figure I'm considering. I can't decide if I want something old or new. I have some figures with mechanical bodies, like the muscles are living metal, and..well you'll see. I just need some advice on what seems more appealing, and doesn't fall into the realm of "oh lord, i've seen that a million times"
these are real rough ones, quickies. 5-10 minutes each. I'll play around with the different poses after I decide on a "theme".

It really depends on what the rest of the pic looks like. The middle guy reminds me of the new Aquaman for some reason.

True about the rest of the pic, but this character will be the main focus of the painting, so background and such is still up in the air. I'll pick a background when i decide on a good idea for the main figure. Right now I'm leaning more toward the Legionary type dude on the far right.
Aqua man....hhahaha I'll have to check that out. but the idea of an underwater scene is kinda nice..hmmm......

What about the legionary type guy with a bazooka/plasma cannon type thingy to lean on? With some sort of futuristic city sitting in the middle of a forest far behind?

Good idea sushi, but after I thought about it, I realized everyone has done that type of image. I'm still leaning toward that idea tho. Then again, the contrast between old and new, and the new falling apart with the old still standing is a very nice idea indeed!
Ok, here is yet another quicky sketch for a another painting i'm working on.
I'm sorry if i'm asking too much from you folks, but I'm in desperate need for some help on ideas. Graduation is comming up REAL soon, and my poor brain is being drained by working on 2 or 3 paintings at a time, plus creating webpage..yak! anyway, I really appreciate the comments and help you folks can offer, it's really helping to get the "gears" turning again!

Before i can graduate I have to have a showing of all my best work, part of that is to design a self promo post card type thingy.
My background is graphic design, illustration,webpage design and some animation. So that's quite a load, so i thought about this for a self promo, and also as a way of expressing how I feel about that hell hole they call school...

Those are tracks on the mountian trails in the background from pulling such a heavy load. I thought about putting a steaming pile of horse shit to be pulled, but that's a "little" too negative On the front of that block will be the letters B.F.A and it will list illustration, graphic design etc. Maybe carved in the stone or painting..not sure yet...
any comments or ideas on something better, I'm open to all suggestions

you know what else is cool, when people combine old and knew. Like knights with laser guns, or futuristic soldiers with swords. i dunno, thats what i like:-)
