I know there is a irc channel called #digitalart on efnet. I personally have serious problems with efnet so i decided i would set up a channel on ircnet since i think it is a lot more stable. There is a big problem though. I can not get a bot for the channel so i would like for some help in this matter. Anyone who can share a bot or get one please contact me. And please evertyone using efnet also come to ircnet so i won't be all alone. |

with all the due respect to you the majority of ircnet is newbies and lamers, EFnet is the most underground of the nets and maybe the best for anything regarding irix, unix in general , linux, warez, OS management and this kind of stuff.
personally i prefer undernet that is some sort of crossover between the two (even if it suffers for an awful lot of netsplits ).
if the thing is moved to undernet you can A) register the channel if there's a decent and costant active user basis and B) i can provide bots and a definitively wider knowledge of the scene.
let me know if anybody wants to do it, it would be wonderful IMHO to be able to chat directly with the ppl in here |

EFNet doesn't work for a /lot/ of people . . . we used to have the #hash3d chats there, but we ended up moving the channel to DALNet and now have a lot more visitors.
I'd recommend seriously considering moving the channel to another network . . . Aside from the constant netsplits, EFNet is hard to get on if you have a firewall, proxy, or are on an ISP that doesn't run IdentD.

How about instead of moving the current channel over, you complainers just make your own #digitalart or #digital-art or #artthatisdigital wherever you please, so we can have two, because really, the less people on efnet's channel the better for me.
So please please please someone go make a #digitalart where they will be happy, so they will not have to come into mine and start bitching. Any visitors who don't feel like bitching however, are more than welcome to EFnet.
PS: Efnet is the most underground network? I don't see how that makes sense at all...but...sure.

Scoop don't have a cow. and as making a new #digitalart i already have made one i only need bots now. That causes the problem. I still think your channel rulz but sometimes it is just not possible to get there because the truth is that EFnet SUX SERIOUS ASS. IRCnet atleast is stable and has no lag. |

Ah yes, I remember you complaining about a 3 second lag this afternoon. 3 seconds IS a bit much. You are right, I am a fuckass, EFnet is shit.

sc00p: in my book being underground for a RC net is a compliment, the more things surface the more lamers and kids get hold of it, try to be a tad less aggressive anyway will only do ya good (apart that nobody bitched on the actual quality of the channel or the ppl in it, just about EFnet) |

efnet underground? eeh? (definition of underground network: if you know it's name, and your friends know it's name and over 50% of the ircing crowd know it's name, it's not underground.)
let's move deeper underground. go 203.141.34.43:2004 (just made that ip up, but you know what i mean ) |

well i think this thing got out of hand honestly, this is the last post i'm making about it (i'm not so close minded to not read eventual replies or change idea about something anyway it's just that i don't think this is the place).
there's 4 majors in the RC scene (RC stain' for relay chat ) IRCnet, DALnet, undernet, EFnet.
IRCnet is one of the less regulated, most affected from lameness (takeovers, spamming, blinding color posting, floodjoining, infinite warclones etc.) and most knowsn.
i don't know much about DALnet so i'll just refrain to comment about it.
EFnet even if known is home to the so called "L337", most hackers, release groups, demoscene groups, warez channels , OS/security management chose it as their base net. EFnet is also one of the hardest to reach for some users (personally i have no problems with it and am online there quite often).
last there's undernet , u could classify undernet as a crossover between ircnet and EFnet, there's more tolerance toward bots (EFnet is full too but there's countless eggdrops and shells banning for mechhosting everyday), it's easier to register chanels, it's not so lameness affected as IRC but there's also less "L337" ppl on it then on EFnet.
i'm sorry again to post such an OT for this board but i wanted just to make my point clear in case i offended anybody off any of the above mentioned RCnets.
Personally i won't loose any sleep over wich net channels will reside on , i can access em all and i'm often on EFnet and my shell/server is on undernet 24/7, i was just trin' to be helpful toward a guy who couldn't access (or had problems with) EFnet in case he would have chosen to move to undernet.
period, case closed for me.

Damn seems my last post never reached the board. well the post was shortly(im not writing it again!!)
Ive had as much as 7sec lag on EFnet and i get disconnected quite often from there. And i said Scoop's channel still ruulz.
The_Jaco: Are you offering bot hosting services on undernet? Im not really picky on the place but EFnet MIGH get totally fuced eventually and i want for people interested in art to have a plce to gather. |
