Im a little interested in what art books all of you have and uses for reference (or whatever)
I just bought a big book about Frazetta and "the intense art of Simon Bisley" mainly to study composition and light, im a big fan of both these artists and have several comics made by Bisley, i guess i should get myself a good anatomy reference cuz i dont have one (and i obviosly have a few thing to learn there). |

I own too many of them. All Burne Hogarth books. How to draw super hero and villains (got that when I was 14, 7 years ago ) How to draw Manga, and Fantasy Art Techniques(Boris Vallejo) , Encyclopedia of Fantasy and Science Fiction Art. And I have about dozen tutorials on my computer. The thing is that these books may assist you , but you won't become great unless you practice and practice. It's like playing an instrument. You can learn some tricks but if you want to make your own music you must practice and experiment by yourself. |

Lot's of comics here..
Moebius, Gimenez, Bilal, Alex Ross
Also some artbooks with Egon schiele,
Gustav Klimt, Dali, Sebastian Kruger,
"Art of starwars"(all of them)+ "the starwars chronicles"
Don't remember all of them, but these are my favorite ones.

Art books on Monet and van Gogh, an almost complete collection of Andrew Wyeth paintings (so awesome!) and Wyeth Tradition (collection of the family illustrators).. Oh yeah, and Surrational Images (Photomontages by Scott Mutter.. he's great!)
I need more technical stuff, does anyone know where I can pick up a book on composition for Landscapes?

I have a little over 300 books, 95% of which are art related. There's a bit of everything there, from cheap graphic novels all the way up to the expensive Syd Mead Krono- collection (god I love those books).
It's fantastic having such a great library to pull inspiration and ideas from. Yesterday I had to draw a quick grassy field with large city in the background and a mountain behind that. I pulled three books off the shelf and had cool reference for all three elements.
I had a book review site up earlier this year, reviewing every book that I own, but the provider went offline and took my book site with it. I keep meaning to find somewhere to put it back up.

I have a few thousand books, if there are any in particular you are looking for, I probably have it.
50% of them are on artists, the other half are reference books and instructional. I am a bookoholic...

Wow Fred, you're even more insane than me, or maybe just collecting for longer.
Do you have a list of all the books you have? I'm always on the lookout for good titles that I haven't seen before.
