nice picture

mind if I give a small critique?

I think it would look better if you would have a midtone in there.
Lets say make the darkest color on the face a bit brighter and make it your midtone.
Then add some darker tone for the shadows on the face.

some things you might wanna check is his right eye. the highlight under the eye looks a bit too strong, makes the part stick out a bit too much IMHO. I think at this eye there should be a shadow there too(between brow and eye)

How did you get the lines look like that?
wacom or scanned?

I really like the overall look.
I think I will try some comic coloring too soon.

Cheers

- Nex

Great work... very dynamic... I like the stylization, regardless of any geometric peculiarities. Would like to see more. By the way, is this your day job?

Nex: Thanks for the advice. This started as a pencil sketch and I darkened the lines

Wacomonkey: Except for 1 contract project that takes very little time from my life, I am unemlpoyed. I just graduated from High School, and am hoping to work this year before art school, so no, I WISH this was my day job. I wish I HAD a day job! Thanks for the compliments too.

As i said in one of your last posts, your style is very distinct and quite rad. I noticed you live around my area (st.albert's just minutes outside of edmonton, if you didn't know) and i'll be graduating this year so we're kind of in the same situation. What art school are you looking to get into?

Alberta College of Art and Design will be my launching pad. After a fews years there I want to be doing something cool with my abilities. Are you cinsidering ACAD? It would be really cool having a "Forumesque" person to talk to there, so I can survive all the artsty crazies.

I really like your stuff, Isric
I think the shapes looks good
and colours nice. There's just one thing
and that's the way you've done the hair.
It looks too detailed and textured if compared to the rest, but maybe it's just me.

I agree with Micke, hair is too detailed, and doesnt seem consistant with the style of the rest of the drawing. Looks cool though!

wow. this is really nice. I agree that the hair is too detailed, but the character just screams a mixture of Threepwood (main character from Monkey Island) and John Smith from Disney's Pochantas. very nice work!

Hey Frost! You're damn right! It reminds a lot of the guy from Monkey Island! Similar style.
Great pic BTW Isric!
