I agree Fred's thread was great Although after some time it became quite taxing on Fred, as everyone and their moms began posting. I would love to see something of a similar sort as I am a big fan of Loki's works, but it would involve great effort on Loki's part and no one could expect Loki to reply to all the posts, as I'm sure it would be quite a popular thread Fred and Spooge teamed up and attempted to critique all the cube submissions...obviouly it would be much more effecient if Loki, for example, were to team up with some other matte/landscape oriented artists.

How about inviting people to do specefic tutorials on certain areas. I mean... the 3dpalette Spooge thing is one of the best thing that happend around here for months I think. And the new painting tutorial from Fred might be just as good.
Well, what I'm saying is that one-way communication is probably the only way it would work.

I think, a mentorship would be a great idea, i already applied *cough pick me pick me*
its easier for Loki to focus on two people than a whole forum. A good way to reach everyone, is after the mentorship make a tutorial out of it for everyone else to learn from, based on the questions and learning examples from the two forum-goers picked...
just an idea, id just really like to have a mentor, i know i learn alot from being shown rather than reading through books. Having another artist tell you how to or what they think you should fix is always fun, thats why this forum is so popular
Anyways, i ask you Loki, dont give up on the idea, i think its a great oppurtunity for two lucky people, and ya never know, maybe others will follow in your footsteps and a whole mentorship tutorials page will spawn im willing to teach people anime heheh, but i dont think im godlike enough yet *as everyone finishes saying "darkmoon who???"
everyone smile for me today!

I think it is a good idea, but since I don't
really have any great pieces that I've done
to submit that you should work some kind of
tutorial in there for the masses.
Just a thought.
