Follow the link on my sig. Then choose to watch the Flash Intro. ANY critiques will be helpful. BTW, I have no idea how it is on dial-up, I'm on cable so it works fine from here.

Okay, I was once part of a web design company that used exclusively flash. Let me tell you right off that I think Html is much happier, unless used by absolute proffesionals.
I'm glad your whole page isn't flash, otherwise a lot of people wouldn't even bother.
The images you used in it (the photos and logos) looked like they were Jpeg compresed pictures you found on the internet. The type you used also seemed oddly used. If you made the type faster and cleaner, without alot of flying around, I think that would help a lot. I think all you have to do is practice. Try to find really neat effects on other sites and try to make them yourself (It's incredible how much origional things you can find if you make mistakes).
All in all it lacked an origional theme. Write a story board for it and make it have a definitive look, instead of black background, flying skulls and red letters.
Sorry for ragin' on your stuff like this, but if you heed my words it might just turn out reallllly cool. |

The following is all constructive critism:
The intro is good if you consider that you are likely making it for the same audience that plays quake/ut/ and that sort of thing. The skull, the red theme color, and the look and feel are very video-game like (and if that was your goal, you nailed it).
Personally, I find the use of text movement overdone past the point of being impactful. Also, in parts the movement seems to have a general path that seems reflective of the feel of the entire animation. But, in other parts it becomes unbalanced (do you knwo what I mean? too jerky, you decide to move text/images one direction when it doesn't add anything to the intro except mroe motion). I don't think you put too many elements in the scenes (which is good). It is a little long too . . . it might need some more substance rather than just repition of the clan name if you want people to be engaged for that long.
As far as motion goes, what i'm trying to say is less is sometimes more. . .

Thanks guys. It's my first Flash movie, so I have no idea how to do really high tech tweens and color changes or anything "cool" lol. Hehe, I asked for criticism, and I got it! I just wanted a Flash intro because every one and their brother has one for their clan. THX.

Not bad for a firsttimer. Some things : dont use a classic font both cursive and red. That's just terrible When making text move, make it move very fast, it makes it more dynamic. When using bitmap images (gif, jpg, etc) in flash, make the movie a fixed size so it wont stretch the images - that loox silly.
Err... dunno. I guess its okay. Im not a big fan of flash really. If you make an astonishing page design in HTML, noone will ask for flash |

im writing this as your movie loads.. I think it is kinda large for an intro if you dont have a cable modem, its taking too long for my liking (although i am very impatient). But if you really fell the need to make it that big or can't optimize it or something, you should try to make a more interesting preloader. Im also starting off in flash, and it can be a lot harder than it looks.. so this is pretty good for a beginning, im sure if you just continued to practice you could get something professional looking. |

yea, i agree, i wouldent do a whole site in flash, but i have respect for youres. i cant do it, so i respect it, the thing i hate is flash, its o intimidating, i think that it would be better used as a cover or splash page. |

I've seen whole flash sites done extremely well, look at OSK's site, i forget what it is. Then again, your thing is really unoriginal, and i hate the music. personal pereference. Simplier is often better |
