have you ever read the redwall series? well, I drew this pic in pencil like four years ago. Then about two weeks ago, went in and colored them in
ergg....i try to make stuff that's not cute...but it always ends up that way They were supposed to be like warrior mice and stuff looking all hardcore....psh!
oh well =)

I really like the style of this piece. You don't have the full body of the character but it doesn't need it. Two things that I noticed about the picture.
1) On the face, you use black lines to define features (whiskers etc). Maybe you should try to create these using shades and colours.
2) On the green mouses cloak thing (front - left), try to refine the shadow a bit more. At the moment it looks a little blurry and that is was just hit with the dodge and burn tool.
Look forward to seeing more of your work.

You're kidding! Redwall has an animated series!!! NO WAY!
Like my dream when I was reading those was to make an either computer animated redwall movie, or an animated series. I gotta see if I can find those
That's a good idea on coloring the whiskers and shading. What I did, was keep the pencil and pen sketch and colored on top basically. I'll try going back in and making em look more realistic and not cartoony.
What do you think about that background? Should I lose it? Do you think a different scene or something would look better? Another thought I had about it was just have white, and a like one inch thick ornamental border around the piece.
