I went over the pic again correcting a few errors and adding lots more hair.

Sorry, but I'm too ill sneezing at the moment to write anything that's witty/interesting here.

Still looks very nice, fine details! But I don't think the added hair is an improvement. Now IMO the head looks a lil chopped off with no visible torso...oh well.

This is excellent Ceenda, the hair is perfect. But I am having trouble with that big black shadow being so rigid. It needs to be a little jaggered or blenging a bit with the hair. Also a slight hint of a neck or shoulder might help her not to float.
I really do love the work you put in on this one. Much talent here. I think Your best.
As for me, I think I will forget how to draw soon. Still have no time.

Great pic Ceenda!!
Although I would get rid of the hair in front of the mouth.... I think it inteferes to much with the lines of the mouth....
I love those dark eyes... what secrets lie beyond??

Kuzya:
You can do hair like that by establishing a base colour and go over it a thousand times with a small airbrush at different opacities and varying colour, both dark and light.... I have done this in a few pics.
It's a rather tedious task but it yields nice results. When you get used to the technique it doesn't really take much time. I think that this is how the picture above was made too.... correct me if I'm wrong!
There's really no EASY way to do this....

That hair is wonderful! Don't change it at
all. I do agree with TeAnne about the shadow
though, it looks kind of out of place, maybe
a little shorter or something would help.

like the others , wonderful hair.
but the face look a little flat for me,maybe if you can give some volum adding more tone to her right face side.oh,the lips tone is too strong,a little gradient is helpful...imo
but who m'i to tell you all this.
nice pic btw !!!

hey ceenda, that picture looks great. a few things I want to point out that are bugging me.
- the eyes don't have any depth. remember that the eyeballs are spheres too. also you might want to add an iris in the eye so it doesn't look like one big pupil.
- I would add some more shading to the face. right now the face looks flat because of the hard light on it. You added so much detail to the hair (which looks great by the way) that it detracts from the simpleness of the face.

I posted the quick-fix that I did that shows my suggestions in there. I hope this helps, and the pictures is great. It's truely a beatutiful woman.

Frank: Well the pupils you added are nice, but I think the shading makes her look much older. I like ceenda's original on this one.

Thanks to everyone for their crits.

Sorry about the delay in replying.

The photo that I am working from had a really high contrast, so in order to soften the pic I would have to make a few guesses which may or may not be accurate.

As for the hair, I used a small paintbrush in Photoshop with variable size and opacity at around 50% initial opacity.

However, I guess I just need practice, practice, practice.
