Hey everyone, im looking for some good books on comic style drawing and also shading.
If any of you can suggest a few for me I'd really appreciate it!

What exacly do you mean by "comic style drawing" and "shading"
Possibly some Hogarth (dynamic figure dawing) for anatomy seeing as it's pretty generic and "comicbookish". Also "how to draw the marvel way".

By comic style I mean the kind of figure drawing you would see in a comic book, namely Marvel or Image. I don't mean to be so general, but im not really sure how to clarify further.
As for shading, essentially im looking for books that teach different shading techniques. Like you see some artists that shade with lines, etc.

"Drawing Comics the Marvel Way" by Stan Lee and John Buscema has just about everything in it. It's a little dated, but it has everything from character drawing to inking and panel design. Check it out. |
