This is from a page in my sketchbook. I'm thinking about doing a digital painting of it. Any ideas on a background?

Cool sketch! I like the character design.. Perhaps make him flying past a cat in a living room environment..maybe the cat is looking at him with a sort of "uh...whas dat?!" look on his face..or the cat is dozing and when the cats are away..the mice will play...type o' thing.

Nice pic. I really like it.

You could paint a slick Metropolis-type background... maybe at a slight overhead angle to give it a sense of action. Maybe? Or how about an old country-side where "mega mouse" is patrolling for rogues? I think that would be an interesting contrast. Just a thought.

Cheers

Very nice cartoon. Yeah... I would have made a swizz cheese as a background where the mouse is inside it...

view is low to the ground to add speed and have the mouse hunched down like a supercross racer and have a "cyborg" cat thingy chasing him on his own rocket

he's onna rocket...so i'd do a background that's blurry and blurring from left to right, this will create the illusion of speed.

oh and umm, yer not alone br0, i thot this was gunna be a drawing done with a mouse too ,computer art geekz think alike *wink*

It would be neet to see this guy burrowing holes in cheese, that would explain why swiss chees has holes in it. have a whole fleet of these little guys zooming around putting holes in cheese...

Or how about a way out of scale background, that makes him look realy small, like a bugs eye view of a kitchen. That would be a neat background. Those little buggers move pretty fast if you ever had one your house, you'll know what I mean.

did someone allready mention a drag race? Amercian grafitti style. have some beat up old junker beside him and a red light about to change to green.

Love the sketch!

Yep, beer seems to have that effect on me, YOu would think it's the other way around.
I just want to see this thing zooming around somewhere, it's too cool to just set there like that.

Nice one !
I really like the sketch, good shadowing job and nice details. I would also add some kind of massive Metropolis as a backround. And to think i thought this thread was about a drawing done with a mouse

I appreciate all the imput. Sounds like there's a lot I could do with this picture. I just gotta figure out which would be best.

Masaccio-no offense in smudging, it looks better now.
