Wow, El Caseron, I was wondering why you wanted to know how to render textures when I noticed your picture already had some very nice texture along the bottom of the stomach and the bottom of the arm.
Nice work!
I am guessing that the clouds are for the background? |

Wow, this picture has come a long way! Very interesting, the texture on the creature really makes a difference - I remember seeing the original, but it's far better now - |

One tip to give your picture a more realistic (better I think) look: Remove all the black lines. Every single one of them.
Black lines = Good, only if they are used by japanese animators.
I worked a bit on your pic and here's the result. I added some color dodge on certain areas to give the light some more impact on the character. Seeing as where the light is from, we should see a shadow of it. Also, fingers in real life don't really look like weiners, so I also gave them a new look Try these modifications yourself. |

yeah, I know I posted this before. And I will go on posting it. You'll never get rid of me (harhar) 'til you explained to me how to add texture to a picture. Yeah, I heard before that I should make a new layer (ok, this far I can follow you), then I should render it (???). What do you mean with that. I can render a 3d object in 3dsmax. So I understand the words, but I don't get the sense. Well, I have the german version of photoshop and I really DON'T find a button with "RENDER" on it. So please you wise english speaking guys, tell me very slow for very stupid people where I have to click. If you still don't know what this freak (me) is talking 'bout. Here's an example. The author said: "in the new layer I rendered some clouds and played around with them". What the f*** is he talking bout?
Here it is:

Under "Filters" in the tool bar you should have "Render". In there you will find clouds or difference clouds. |

Wow, thanks for the great help! I really appreciate that you spended your precious time on me and my problem.
@Sergenth: This is my picture, yeah. But I didn't made that what you can see. Look here: http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/Forum2/HTML/004607.html
My latest version still was without texture. And I couldn't follow the guy who tried to explain how to do. So I asked you wise guys.
@ Snake Grunger: Normally I don't leave all the black lines. But it's been so long since I last had a tablet in my hands. So I started a pic and it seemed to become quite good. When I almost finished colouring I noticed that there are still those huge ugly black lines. I actually hoped nobody would notice em. And now I don't really have the energy to work any longer with this pic. I'll start something new. But thanks A LOT for your work on it. I'm posting soon my sketches for him. In my sketches he also has normal fingers. But they somehow didn't make it through the tablet
So thanks again to all o' ya!
