vebjorn - I'm always amazed how people rail you when you show one or the other painting. I think your skills are so amazing and worked out and people sometimes just walk over your paintings with muddy boots.
But since you're working with clients all the time, as you mentioned, you've got a thick skin ...
"But many people can`t draw very well, but some can still see."
That statement is so true - I always try to listen to what anyone has to say, because everyone's got eyes and I usually make my images for _everyone_, and reception functions the same in all humans. My best critic in the old days was my mother - she didn't really know how I did my images, but she's tell me what she liked and what looked weird. Never dismiss input from whoever - they all got eyes in their head.
Sometimes people go:" Well, don't care what I say about your image, because I can't paint and don't understand anything about it!" SO? You're as good as anyone else to comment ...
hmmm ... but I've got to say that this forum, despite some glitches, which are fun anyway, is populated by mature, cool people that are interested in so many aspects, respect each other and try to help each other ... fabulous!

Yeah! I'am right behind Loki on this one... Vebjorn - You ROCK! And Loki you rock too! and Joachim and everybody else in this thread rock also! (wow! got quite emotinal there...gotta go back to my vampire painting)
but actually... I did find DP quite good. So-what if he did borrow stuff from somewhere? I feel this forum lost some quite good artists over the last few months. DP and Fallen to name two. Both did get personally very quickly but they also were targets of some stupid remarks and comments. ah well... Its too late and I need something to eat...
...Boom! boom! I want you in my room...

Hi everyone. Heard about this thing today, and I actually didn't even want to read it, but I said, the hell with it, lets see. And, my cold heart got all softy =)
So, I'm not gonna defend myself, nor I will pick up fights, I'll try to explain.
The interview in question - I read it again today, and I must say it shows absolute arrogance. For that I apologize and I also apologize for the bad english as it doesn't actually says what I wanted it to. But there is one thing you must understand. I do take criticism, its not like I get all bitchy when someone even remotely shows dislikeness of my work. I get all heated up when someone acts RUDE. Thats what that respect thing was all about. Hope you understand that. You all remember that 1st fight I picked up with the rest of the world =))) Those kind of comments I cannot and will not tolerate. Thats how I am.
That said, its time to greet you all, and thank you for the mild thread without too many harsh words, everything is on a proffesional and mature level. Loki, thanks for trying to keep my name unrevealed, bcoz this is obviously for the sake of the talk(sp?).
The reason I left this forum, is partially bcoz of some, and again, some ppl, which is pretty immature, but keeping my godlike ass in here would result in more fights, coz I can't control myself when it comes to it.
The 2nd reason is that I work on Serious Sam, and I haven't done ANY 2d artwork except the skins, concept art etc.
I haven't seen lots of you for awhile, specially Danny, immi, Joachim, Frost, Loki etc. I love you guys, love your work, you are kickass ppl.
Once again thank you for keeping this thread proffesional.
dP
