Hi guys. I've been trying to find some time to begin a new color piece, but in the meantime, I've done some more sketching.

There seems to be some people inquiring about the marker technique. I use primacolor warm grey 30%, 50%, and 70%. I find the cool grey to be too cold. I've also opted for french grey in the same tonal values for a deeper warmth. I follow a similar technique to Doug Chiang and ink with Pilot Razor points. For paper I've been using Letraset marker paper. Happy drawing everyone.

I love concepts and this one is really good. Very expressive lines and the spots and swirls on it's skin adds a nice feel. My only gripe would be that it's right leg (closest to the viewer) in the mist(?) doesn't read very well...doesn't detract too much though
Great stuff

sorry about that front leg...the truth is there was some older notes and phone numbers that the sketch ran into so I had to turn on the fog pump.

Very cool. I really like the feel you accomplished with the skin. You know what's wierd though? You mentioned the exact same marker sets that I was using 10min ago! Heh...now if only I can get my scanner back! (friend in Paris has it, left it when I moved)

That's really great. I love the marker
style and glad to see a lot more of it
posted on the forum. I'd like to see some
one post, not necessarily a tutorial, but
the stages they go through to do these.

What do you use for the linework? I tried using a regular ballpoint pen and it all bled and smeared blue when it came in contact with the marker...

hey, I like the lower part of your village mutant's body. i think you should rework the upper half. i dont find it pleasing to the eye. (don't hit me, i have good intentions).
