the only things i really see wrong with it...is that the arms and legs are both too short.
i'm no anatomy expert...but i'm pretty sure the hands are supposed to be almost at the knees when at your sides...but don't quote me on that.

One good intuitive way I've found for myself to picture the length arms are meant to have is this:
place your right hand on your left should. See how far the arm is going? somewhere on the right of the sternum, right? That's the length of the arm.
Now for the forearm, if you almost cross your hands in front of you, placing the right hand on the left elbow and the left hand on the right elbow, you'll see that the forearms are basically more or less the same length as the shoulder.
Don't know if this will help anyone, but it helped me, so I thought I'd share...

heres my quicky arm tips:
when the arm is completely relaxed, your hand will fall halfway down the outside of your thigh. Also, your elbow will almost line up with your belly-button.
<useless arm trivia warning!>
did you know: your forearm (from inner elbow to inner wrist) is roughly the same length as your bare foot? Try it out!
</useless arm trivia warning>
full of cheapo arm tips, aren't I?

Well... my forearm (from elbow to inner wrist) is about one and a half times the size of my bare foot :-P
Maybe I'm just weird *grin*

I'm looking at this and thinking Neo.
Dude, seriously... get that jacket blowing in the wind, darken the hair, fix the limbs and shade like hell and you got yourself the poster for the Matrix II.
Kick ass... I am gonna rip this one up for ya and do my own version.
Sweet piece man. |

Nice sketch Massacio, but he looks kinda off balance. I'm not too sure what you could do about that though. The latest pic you posted looks great, much better with stronger shadows. Once you figure out the foot problem it should be nice!

Hi Masaccio I could try to help you out a little,
Why did you leave ou the feets? It's one of the important elements that
helps to create balance. Don't be afraid adding one, he wont look too tall, since his legs is allready too short. trying to hide the feet will not help much at all, cause you will not learn anything at all from it.
You really should add a face too, the drawing will look boring without it and lack personality. You could also check out the hands one more time, they look blocky and stiff.Try study your own hands, or check out photos in magazines or whatever. The coat also looks stiff, it lacks folds. In order too
improve doing folds you could take a t-shirt or jacket or even a sheet and place it over a chair and study it.After doing this you'll have a clearer idea.
Good luck!
Hope this could help you some.

just about the arm length thing. Ages ago I did a little test to see how big they were compared to my legs and what I found out is if you took off my feet then my arms (including hands) would be the same length as my legs (measuring from the groin to the ankle). |
