You must be pretty tired of all these portraits by now, and i can assure you this will be the last, i just promised to try to improve another one i did way back, keeping Fred and craigs helpful tips in mind.
I tried out a new technique as i did it.
Does it look more solid? is the values looking ok? I look pissed off in all these, but i was concentrating hard..

Any help would be appreciated.

Holy shiy, dr. Bang! I want whatever drugs you're taking to make photographs look impressionistic and sketchy (in a good way, of course) like micke's painting. Maybe it's a Canadian thing, but do you think you could send some to me in the States?

Oh yes, thank you Canada for The Kids in The Hall.

I love your art Micke!
And to answer your question, it looks very solid, I could almost touch it!
I love the way you colour on the computer, it looks like a natural medium!

That's a fantastic painting Micke! I'm in awe. The only thing I might ask, is if the bridge of your nose really is that smooth and cylindrical. I don't mean to offend if the drawing is correct to your nose, but my eye seems to want to see the slight variations in form along the surface.

I love the shading of the eyes and the subtle planes of the cheek and cheek bones.

Keep posting stuff like this, it's what keeps this forum so great.

Thats great as usual micke I like the hatching on it, it adds "character" for lack of a better word. The light coming from the right side is real nice too.

Hurricane: I'll try to see what i can do with the ear after work, but i'm not quite sure what you meant..
Burnout: Thank you I've never tried the approach with the lines before in a painting,
think it gave it an interresting texture.
Plop: He he, i loved spooge's picture, he also had some lines in it, very subtle. Liked the way he did the skin, almost without any highlights at all.
Jenn: I dunno about the bunny ears, but all
my boogers is under my chair..OUCH i think i just scratced myself
Ballistic:Thanks, man.
Jason: Thank you for your comments.
Loki: Thanks
rdgraffix: I did'nt take a break from the painting yesterday, but i'll have a look afterward(after work)Thanks
Chapel: I have another painting i have to finish. Have about 4-5 unfinished ones.
Dryfire:Yeah, someone else mentioned the ear.
i'll take a look at it later. Could also fix
the hair a little bit, thank for the comments!
Death.tool: Glad you liked it
Dhabih: Yeah, i like the hatching too.
My pics always have a tendency of becomming too clean, he he. Thanks!
Gambit:Thank you.

I'll have a look at it afterwards.

-Micke

Great stuff, micke. I know what you look like without ever seeing a photo. Unless you really don't look like that, of course

I really do enjoy these portraits that you and Joachim have been posting, don't stop . I've always wanted to be able to do this sort of image but I have a -whole- directory filled with aborted attempts.

I actually spent a little bit of time at the end of each night for about a week trying to copy your previous portrait as closely as I could (a mix between the original and the one Fred played with, I liked aspects of both).

I haven't touched it for a while but I got most of the face done and I really learnt a -lot- working on it. Doesn't really look like Micke though :>.

--

If I was to give some feedback on this one I would probably say that it looks a little "dry". The eyes in particular look very dry but even the skin has a little bit of that feeling too.

Micke, great portrait. Man, the colours on it are fantastic.

Also, would it sound stupid, if I said you're a stud?

Micke-damn your a stud...heh...you shouldn't be a lolely illustrator, you should be some model dude that gets all the babes...hehe...

This is as usual, so great to see. You are growing in leaps and bounds. This looks like you have been studying with great masters. You are also fusing your line art style into your color work, I love the transition...awesome...

The only complaint I have, and I haven't read any of the posts yet so I don't know if anyone has said this, but again you concentrate too muchon the ear. It is the brightest, and biggest brightest shape in the image. It is also against the rail of the image, so it is in a bad spot to isolate a point of interest. Ramp down your values into the image so the ear has more reddish hues in it at a slightly greyed value, maybe 6 or 7 on the value scale. They don't need to stand forward unless you really want to show off those ears...heh...
I am so stoked to see this image. It is a definite screen saver type image, but if I post it as a screen saver, people might think wierd thoughts...heh, check my new thread...hehehe...
