Ya see I got this comic that I am drawing , and for time reasons I have decided to go almost pure digital .
Now the problem I am having is that I dont know how to get it printed . I have taken it to a few major places like KINKOS but the print resolution is horrible and you cant see brush strokes.
I was wondering if you guys know of any places (Chains or otherwise ) I could go to get a book quality print job for only a few personal copies of the book
ohhhhhh and what kind of print places make the pages look matte instead of gloss
Ps: here are 2 of my pics to look at for your trouble (as bad as they are)

Looks interesting. My quwstion is.....if I'm not wrong isn't digital art going to take longer? I worked in comics awhile back as an penciler.....intern at Sinisterarc and Vertigo, and I could pencil or ink about 4-6 pages a day....when it can take up to weeks to months to finish a quality digital painting at best. Just curious. |

You are looking at a very big issue. No real answer. Is the print resolution bad becuuse of your image resolution or becuase of the printing. There are entire profesions out there devoted to small parts of what you are talking about. My suggestion is to find a place that will do what you want (it will have to be a digital printer) and then get the specification/recomendations for setting up your document to be printed. You might have trouble getting that few prints. I think there are colour photocopiers that act as printers which might be an option. A lot of print houses and copy shops should be able to do something for you but it I imagine that you will have a bit of trouble with the whole thing. especialy getting the result you want.
You will pay a hell of a lot to do high quality vanity publishing in my experiance. most places will waste twice as much paper and ink warming up the press and doing tests as they will on doing a few comics.
