this is a design that i whipped up for a friend's site. i'm really happy with the way it turned out - i think it looks pretty much like an animation cel, and i really like the contrast of the foreground lineart with the hazy painting in the background.

anyways, hope you enjoy:



originally i colored it really brightly, but since i was going for the kind of scene you see in flashbacks in anime movies, i added a 'color' layer at the end overtop everything and played with the tint. this is a good technique to try if you have a hard time getting really atmospheric colors. (like if everything is always too bright)

i just loaded up WP Japanese font and hit 'a b c d e' ... the guy who asked me to do the interface also asked for japanese characters.

Presuming the pic will be small enough (bytes) then the site should be cool.

it's just a personal site - a bunch of anime stuff, linux information, the ever-present journal...

wow, it seems like my type of line work doesn't get much of a reaction on this forum.. i guess i should add some breasts or a spaceship. :P

Hi!

I really like it, very stylish :-).
However, I would not use any symbols which I don't know. They could tell the story of a Jenna Jameson Video...or worse...you never know...and maybe someone else understands the symbols...they could mean something offending...anyway...hmm.
