i'm pretty excited over this one, what with it being by far the best "drawing" i've done so far in my existence, and like that wasn't enough, it actually means things.

to put it bluntly and keeping it short, a fucked up thing who tore (sp?) his chest open to get it out and is offering his already broken heart to the receiver. it'll read "don't break" when i actually get that far.

this is something like 30-35% of the original rez, by the way. gonna print or press it. and frame it. and give it. woo(!).

yeah.

oh, i used photo reference a bit. i looked at myself a good few times in the mirror, in that pose, then just started drawing and hoping for the best. i fucked around with the arm and the hand for god knows how many hours, then i took a photo of my hand in the same position, and to my terror realized the drawing was almost ok proportion and anatomy-wise.

affected said the picture looks like me. scary. in a good kind of way.

Thats pretty fricken awesome faustgfx. I duno quite how to crit this one.. mostly, because its pretty abstract, and the form looks quite good. Consider that a compliment.

almost every bit of the picture has been thought through before drawn, mind you, so it's not a abstract "fuck it it's good. neeeext." deal all over.

a bit bigger version with a tad "better" detail... 1.7 megs.

looks pretty good jussi. a suggestion would be to add some highlights to the fingernails to add a bit more depth there. also, how did you get those patters that look like fingerprints coming out of the hand? very interesting.

faustgfx! Man this simply rocks....very! The small points is what makes this piece stand out to me! The black nails, the black to white switch change, and the fact that the heart isn't a biologic one all accent the piece! He looks like a plant of some kind....which leads me to believe that you were hinting at how life is (we began as a seed, we grow, we flourish, we die, as we where dependant on a higher power to live)! I maybe wrong but tis cool nevertheless!

the thing shizzat coming off the thumb is just ec3.0 jiggle from hell, nothing more. and a little aftertouch by hand.

the concept, to put it bluntly.. hrm. too much stuff. i'm not sure if i even remember some of them :> (was a bit tired in the first 14+ hours of working on this. straight.)

a freak with a lizard's tail to represent his personality, face like a wooden sculpture to represent the level of his intelligence and faceless 'cause of not wanting to draw his face in to the picture, hand falling apart 'cause of the touch of the one, the shadow that's also trying to get through his head to represent his past life that still tries to surface in his head, his chest cut open 'cause of painfully wanting to take out the damaged heart (which'll read something along the lines of "it's yours, take care of it" etc), the wings on the heart 'cause it wants to fly but it grew the wrong kind of wings and doesn't know how to fly anymore.. and other things. that's it pretty much summed up to a small sentence.
