Hi there.

I decided to do some speed pics as I think I sometimes tend to be a bit uptight (artisticly speaking ). I recall that some of the guys on the board are into surfing, so I thought they(and everyone else, of course!) might enjoy this pic. Like I say, this is a speed pic, so I'm not aiming for photo realism here.

I'm not a surfer, but painting this kinda made me wish I was!

Looks pretty good, but you didn't give us a time frame. Remember, with speed paintings you ARE going for photorealism, with the knowledge that you probably won't get there.

I think it looks great... especially for a quicki.. technically tho the way the waves breaking is awkward... did u use a reference when making the picture? The back end of the wave looks like it is coming right at you, but the form and the lip of the wave suggest otherwise... anyways cool picture =)

Anthony: About 45 mins - 1 hour. Yeah, that point I made about the photorealism was a bit silly actually...

surferboi: he he, judging by your name I think I got off lightly... I used a photo from an encyclopedia as reference. Thanks for the crits guys.

Ayh, good job on the water there. Maybe could use a little more color? or was the photo b/w?

Binke: The photo was colour, but it was really faded. I don't think the colour had come out that well in the photo.
