Hi
Let me introduce my self. My name is Jacek Oczki and this is actually my first post here. I work with 3d and animation for games. Im originally selftaught artist. Let me just say this forum ROCKS, all those great artists. I LOVE IT. ) I found a lot of helpful hints here.
So here is my first pic. I saw a picture that Spooge did from a movie and i decided to do that too. This pic is from the movie Bladerunner. Tell me what you think. Both sides, likes and dislikes. )

Hi up newbie!
Wow! That's all I have to say at first! I really like atmosphere and whole has some dramatic influence. Great still pic.
Only thing which comes up to my mind is that the pic would be more effective if edges were near by the center of the pic. I mean that because the man is the main thing on the pic it would be nice to see if the shape of the pic was like a cube. Hopefully yuo got the main idea. Me and my bad english...

Well seeing as it was composed by whomever storyuboarded that fantastic movie I don't think it's fair to crit the positioning or canvas size.
However, I think it looks a bit flat. there is not enough form in the face. mostly in the eyes. the neck should look more like it is underneath/behind the head. You could also have smoothed out that volumetric light. and cleaned up whatever it is up near the light source.
other than that it looks good. I loved that movie. I especialy like the way you have handled the hair.

The likeness to Mr. Ford is less than stellar, and his nose looks like it's squashed some, but the lighting work on the hair (not just that on the head) and the jacket is great. Your sense of color and value is great, even if your proportions are a scant bit off.

Hi welcome on board!
At first i thought this was Tim Allen from "home improvement" throwing up his best Jedi impression, but then I read that it was supposed to be from bladerunner.. hehe
Looks good.

Look cool, although Deckard was played by Harrison Ford, not Tim Allen .

Really like the mood and lighting! I agree the eyes are off, and takes away so mouch from the image.....the head is also off....in looks skewed at an angle for ine reason or another. I do however really like that hair frindges that poke above the window's lighting! |

At first I thought it must be from the Santa Clause, since it looks so much like Tim Allen.
I like the lighting a lot. I think you've handled the subtleties very well, though I think you should suggest a little more of the background.

Great pic. The colors and lighting effects are very well done. The overall shape of the face seems like one of those "old movie" effects where it looks like the screen is stretched vertically...if that makes sense. Maybe the face isn't an exact replica of Harrison Ford (I can't draw perfect portraits either...most people can't anyway.), but I could clearly tell who it was supposed to be without reading anything. If you were to try to improve anything, I'd try to tweak the face a little bit to add more likeness. Welcome to the board!
