I'll be graduating next year and I was wondering if any of you could offer some info or opinions about art colleges. What's the tuition fee of Art Center, by the way? I've been looking over it's site and I can't find the tuition.. |

about nine thousand a semester, plus a grand or two for supplies. 8 semesters to complete the bachelors degree program. (shorter with advanced standing, longer if you do not have any liberal arts units to transfer (which you won't if you go straight to artcenter)
u'r profile says u live in tennessee. so you would have to add stuff for an apartment and stuff. artcenter doesn't have any dorms.
hope this helps.

I'm not too interested in dorms anyhow. A friend, who's also interested in a college in the area [the name has slipped my mind at the moment] mentioned we could possibly room together..
As for advanced standing..what courses or classes would help aid that? |

If you're really good, and show a strong understanding of the fundamentals, then they might let you have advanced standing. BUT, this is very rare. And if you do get it, they'll probably up you only one or two terms. In most cases, if you have a very strong portfolio, they'll offer you a scholarship instead. Advanced standing are usually offered to people who already has professional experience and is coming back for school.
Remember, you MUST have a entrance portfolio (aimed at your major) to apply for accd. They usually don't let people in straight outta high school - being they want you to experience college life first (accd is not an average college, it feels more like work...meaning - no life outside of school). Of course this depends on the major. For ID design, most high school students don't have a portfolio showing that. So they'll proably suggest night school to build up a portolio (they run 600-1000 bux a class). There was a earlier thread about 2 month ago regarding accd, just search for it (or search for my name....since i barely post, it'll show up as one) =)
