Cool pics!
As for the leg...Maybe you should make it fatter and a bit back. He looks kinda off balance. I'm not too claer on this. Usually I just scribble lines around until it looks right. Not good at describing it.
Sorry.
Oh and I have no idea how to draw bat eyes. hehe. You gonna do anything else to this pic or just leave it as is?

conan, hehe. . . I'm not much into that stuff.
Some comments..I will draw the conclusion that these are drawn from or on top of other pictures, right ? Not that I say that is not a good exercise...but the reason why I get that feeling, is that the pencil technique and the details within the outline seem a bit undefined.
Personally I have proplems to know how I should criticise these, sorry. I think if you are trying to get better, as you say, the process will go faster if you try to draw from life, what you see. And from imagination, with line ups. Study shape and volume, etc.....
But, if you have done these from your imagination, I'm sorry that I misjudged. Then I would say, exercise your pencil technique
Hope you don't think I'm harsh, I just want to help

Eaze1, try taking a look at the size of the man's far arm .. it looks huge, larger even than the nearer arm (which shouldn't happen unless you are drawing mutants )
This is reversed with the near and far legs; to correct it, i suppose one would reduce the size of the far arm and slightly increase the size of the far leg.. or else, increase the size of the near arm and the far leg.. just anything to make them look the same size/length using the perspective you're using.
also, the line of the shin doesn't quite line up with the line of the boot in the far leg.
hope that helps!
I have to say i really like the second image, the proportions are as right-on as my eye can see, and the emotion the barbarian is exuding is totally apparent - excellent, i love it! |

sorry, ease 1. .That was stupid of me to say. But drawn off comics, then. That is better though, then it's more exercise to it. But, I hope you understand what I mean. It's not to criticize you as an artist, but to do such conan poses out of imagination require lots of skills, as the people doing the comcis do have. And, therefor the pencil technique must have the same standard if it should be a convincing sketch.
But I still mean that studying shapes in real life and from imagination is better.

no no I understand. ive never takin a art class in my life. so all my art sort of comes from looking at other artists stuff. for poses and things. i'am trying to get into a human form class.. i hope ill be able to do that soon. what you were saying about.
drawing from line ups.. what is that.. ?

ease1,
what I mean, building up the body with cubes and perspective lines etc...to learn more perspective and volume of shapes. It's really something that shines through when sketching up things. And, it's something an artist can never get enough of.
