Haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd better throw this up. It's not like I've been playing Diablo II or anything. Really.
Took about an hour and a half in Photoshop. I did the drawing on one layer and then did some shading on the layer below it. I'm liking the combo line/shading look. I tried doing a portrait with a very simple line drawing and then using only values to finish it up, but I was just getting frustrated. It kind of feels like I'm using the drawing as a crutch right now, but I'll try to put more values in the next one and slowly try to lose the drawing.

Well, I like Fred's a little better - adding the color and the death star interior in the background really helps to punch it up.

It would probably help to post too, I was helping load the image.
You got her likeness down for sure. It looks like an older audrey. What you might want to do though is avoid using too many scratchy lines, unless that is a look you are attempting. THe problem with the scratchy lines and a beautiful face or portrait is that the lines detract from the beauty content. They aren't bothersome in the hair, but repeating them in some of the facial planes kinda takes away from the hair shape and makes the image look a bit roughed in.
The lips are on adownward tilt on her left side of her lips. Look at that image again, you might need to adjust that corner, lift it a bit more. Nice job overall.
Here is one I did about five years ago. I think drawing her is so fun because her proportions are so animated looking. Everything seems a bit over the top,and yet sexy all at the same time...

Thanks Fred. Your picture is beautiful. One of my weaknesses right now is drawing too fast. I just throw down marks without really stopping and studying first. I gues I just want to get it done and get on to the next one so I can get better. But I'm starting to realize that one well thought out stroke is worth ten scratchy strokes, and in the long run it is actually faster. But it's a tough habit to break, I'm working on it.
Plus, I've got to learn to stylize more and not be such a slave to the photo. Like you've done with punching up the reflected lights to round the form more, like on the bottom of the nose and the lower lip.
I agree about drawing her. I love her manga eyes.
