Welcome aboard uh ms. sin...you do some really nice portrait work. How long have you been at all this? You have quite an extensive site. And many links to stuff I have been searching for online for a while. Thank you for the link to your site. Hope to see you around the forum more. THis is a great place to log into. Lots to learn, and a great place to blow off the frustrations we artists can have...I am thankful for this place.
Welcome aboard...very cool site... |

I've been doing this for about 5 years. Haven't gone to school for it yet, though.

Welcome, sin,
I saw your site the other day, and I had a question. I see you put out a call to anyone who had interest in posing as a model for your photography, have you had success in meeting new models??? I have been doing portraits of a similar nature (in oils), and the biggest problem I have is finding people willing to pose. You could check out my temp webpage, but you won't see examples of what I'm talking about, because I have never kept any of the portraits for my portfolio. (they've usually been of ex-girlfriends, who seem to not want me to have erotic pics of them after we've broken up.. go figure.... But nonetheless, I have recently regained interest in doing some more work like that again, and my current girlfriend, will not pose (damn her).
What suggestions would you have for to meet some models, since you seem to already be doing so???
thanks

general- well, i don't see why your girlfriend wouldn't pose. Posing is fun
As for how to meet models, all I really did was finally hook up with some people that lived fairly close to me and they happened to know a lot of people as well. Only thing is, I've been posing for thier clothing line so we can get their domain up and running, and then I'll probably turn the camera on them.
What state do you live in? The best way to usually meet people who are willing to be photographed is to hang out at clubs and eventually approach those you're interested in. They always have friends!

Cool, cool. welcome to the board. always good to see a woman join. I don't mean that in a dorky "huh huh...look a chick" way, but its neat to see a different angle i guess.
This board is the best. However, as a newbie, you may want to find a cow, or lamb or something, and sacrifice it to our resident deities Fred and Spooge. |

Hehe glad to see you registered on this board, Angela.
immi refers to spooge demon (Craig Mullins: http://www.goodbrush.com) and Fred Flick Stone (an art teacher) -- Both are quite talented. I ended up sacrificing a stolen ftus because I didn't have a small animal.

I live in NJ, about a half hour from Manhattan. I know of some clubs in the city, that would definitely have people who are interested, I've just never bothered to persue it. I guess, I'll have to get over there soon. Where do you live??? Maybe you could hook me up!!!!

Hi there.
Welcome to the board. Your graphics site is really cool.
I'm not good at introductions either...
immi: If anyone posts another Wacom posting... I'll... I'll... ooooh, I'll just be very very cross indeed, and you won't like it, no, you won't like it one bit!

Guh-guh-guess what? Flasher (from 3dP) made buddy buddy man (i think it involved going down on his knees, but flasher has always mixed business with pleasure) with some dude at Wacom. So, once we're up (groan) we'll get the whole line to review.
We can buy them for 60% off. Hehe. That means some of the lucky 3dp hosted artists, if they want to buy a good tablet, and review it for the site, will be allowed too. Cool huh? suxors if you're not 3dp! |

Myself, having moved recently from Kansas to California I can definately say that Cali is the place to be. Not to mention that I get to work with Fred, Wacommonkey, and Francis... plus there's the ocean. I love this state.
