what what?! YOU think your art isn't good enough to put here? thats not true! even i have posted a primitive and possibly blindingly bad picture i made (although no one replied to it). don't be fooled into thinking any picture to isn't good enough to show us!

Come on Ceenda, surely its better than this:

I spent 4 hours on it, and used a photo for reference.

How do we know that's the original. HUH! Prove it Mr

I can see why one would maybe think it has room for improvement but it is certanly not worthless.
Maybe if you had a ship in the foreground that takes up a fair amount of room and then had similar ships getting smaller and smaller until they are tiny when close to the floating island. have a docking bay or something with these tiny ships comeing out.
Just a suggestion. put whatever cool creature/ship design thing you come up with in place of "ship"

When I first put the pic up I realised later that it contained nearly everything I'm trying to get away from.

I know absolutely nothing about form etc. having not been to art school but I would like my pics to have better composition and form.

The mountain itself just looks so flat and 2D and the city may as well be a cardboard cut out.

Nope, I'm really disappointed with that one.

aquamire: lol! That's quite sweet actually.

Ceenda, it looks ok as it is, but this is what I'd do....

Draw the whole thing form a lower perspective so that you're looking up at it's sheer vastness. (draw a kid, bloke or blokette to show the scale )

I'd change the colour too, but thats personal taste, I think they're too intense, Watery colours are my scene.

my thrupenny bit!

Ceenda, you know this is a good pic, I know this is a good pic...

Hey, I'VE even posted here, so I'd be worried if you thought your stuff wasn't good enough

Oh, and does anyone else think Aquamire's pic has a whole sinister thing going on? Those eyes freak me out, man, and the kiddiness of the pic makes it even more unnerving...

You said that sucked? If you ask me, thats actually quite nice. Yeah, it has its flaws, but so does everyone else's. I personally think thats a damn good start. Dont ever stop posting stuff, even if it is 'sucky'. People on the forum can help make it 'un-sucky'.
