Now that the server is speedy again, I can post this. Any tips to make it better? I really don't like the plant.

those rocks are really nice. add some pebbles maybe? water's good too.
the flowers seems to just get in the way. shorter stems and some leaves would go nicely, i think.

    oh very good
reminds me of a fairy tale...
    my suggestion is to put
    some flowers or
only the green part of the flowers(yes..yes
    my english I know)
    between some rocks
    this would look more natural

As for the flowers in the foreground:
the green part of the flowers ( grrrr..)
would look much better if they grow
out of the picture and not being at the same
    level like the flowers..

oh boy think that was the worst english ever
    in this forum..

hope you got the idea anyway

You totally captured the reflections of light and color in the water, looks very wet... Perhaps making the stones closer to the water wet, or give it a wet feel, it seems like the stream flows so smoothly that it never splashes anywhere or on any of hte surrounding bed.. The only problem with teh flowers is that it extends to far to the right, and it takes away alot from the picture, shortening them like some of hte other suggestions sounds best! btw? what technique did you use to put the texture on those rocks LOOKS very REAL! awesome job! berry berry nice.....

    Thanks for the tips.

I made some custom brushes for the textures.

I don't know what that yellow stuff in the water pools is, but unless it's sand, then wouldn't it have colored the rocks that it's flowing over? Ummm... I love the rocks... and I agree that the stems should be coming out from between rocks for the flowers... It looks amazing though.. the rocks and water, that is...

The water and the rocks are spot on. Very nice and simple.

My problem with the weeds is not the rendering, but the placement. I think if you force some randomness and uneveness in the placement, it will help a lot.

Wow, I think you have a really good sense of global illumination and the bouncing of light in a scene.

I agree that adding some randomness into spacing between the flowers and the angles of their stems would make them look a bit more natural.
