The concept of Satan and Hell and angels originally came from Zoroastrianism, an old, old middle east religion that got swallowed up by some of Judaism and most of Christianity.
If Christianity were an Eastern Religion like Buddhism or Taoism or Hinduism, then God would be both God and Satan... good and evil... two aspects of the same "whole".
Thanks World Religions class!!!
Oh yeah.. I love the pic... especially the contrast of the dark blood on the very bright helmet. It looks like it is going to rain on King Arthur. |

Is it gauche to post my pic in Craig's thread? Anyway, here is my less suave, more comic booky pseudo Japanese version.

Spooge, Francis - i'm curios as to your brush settings as well as your layer setup.
it seems to me that your both are using the paintbrush i'm guessing with the stylus option set at: size = off, opacity = on, color = off (or is it opacity off/color on). in addition it seems that both of you have your brush set to normal with a less then 100% opacity. or do i have things backwards?
any insight into this fairly technical question would be great, i've been futzing around with my settings but haven't quite settled down on a particular set....
thanks? |

Ok, I had to do one of these. Spooge got me inspired to sketch with these. I still have a long way to go getting away from just using the paintbrush tool, but these are still great fun to knock out quickly. |

Man that's cool Fred. It has a good "armour" feel to it, and I dig the perspective.
Francis- Japanese knights always do it for me

wow! You guys....
Spooge:The first one is looking really good, but somehow i find your sketch much more interresting. I have'nt seen much line-drawings from you. Could you maybe post some
of your figure drawings? I've seen some of them and they are looking absolutely fantastic.
Francis: I really like your second one! Very nice. Keep on going guys, it's always fun to see this type of different work
Fred: very nice face on that one!how long did it take to do?

Micke, Rinaldo, wow, thank you...I am loving photoshop alot, I hope it doesn't make me want to give up the paints.
Micke, it took about 35 minutes.
I am going to invent a lot more, I am finding that I dont need to see things to draw them. Photoshop has been good for me and this. I tended not to want to waste paper on meaningless crap, so I never started. Not that invention is meaningless, but making ugly shit to me is. Photoshop will never run out of ink or paper, so I can exlpore the world of possiblities. Thank s again Spooge for the inspiration... |

Sorry about the crappiness. I can't paint. Just wanted to be part of the moment
BTW, PS, about 20 minutes or so, no ref (obviously)

and every Arthur needs a Merlin
Here's my first post to this list. A quick take on Merlin, no references (like you couldn't tell). Shows just how much I still need to learn, but it was fun to do.

God is the King of Darkness, as he is the creator of everything, there for he must have created good and bad, light and dark, and the devil himself.
Is the devil not Lucifer the fallen angel? God's first son ?
I really love learning about the darker sides of religion and the more story based aspects of the bible, im not religious whatsoever (atleast i dont follow an organised religion, but i have certain beliefs) But i find some of the storys of good vs evil captivating. |

obviously influenced by spooges 'flags' pic.
a peice of crap picture of a knight on his horse drudging through a feild of bodies after battle. he's barely still holding onto his sword. i'm probably the only one who can see any form in this, but i want to participate anyway.

Well, I guess I wanted to participate too. This didn't really turn out the way I wanted it. But I spent 30 minutes on it might as well post it.
Arthur saying a little prayer before battle. I know there are a ton of mistakes, but oh well. |

aha i have done a little research.
Satan is not the most powerful fallen angel, nor is he the ruler of the underworld. Heres what i found.
"This Abaddon (which is Hebrew for "destroyer") is the demonic ruler of the Abyss. Abaddon is the highest ranking evil angel now confined in the Abyss. Although not specifically mentioned by these names anywhere else in the Bible, Abaddon plays a major role in the events at the end of this current age." |
