Hey. *huge intake of breathe* Here we go. I ran this picture through my head and asked what looked off. A few things came to mind, one being the anatomy of the head. I tried to see what specifically was wrong, and when I tried an overlay myself, I found that you've been following some of the rules.

Basically I supose it's just the way the face is set up. Look at your face in the mirror, flex it, squish it, whatever, but learn why things move and sit the way they do.
In terms of real pointers. Here goes:

1)
The eyes suffer from Dhabih sindrome (i think dhabih is cool, don't get me wring), that is that they look like they took just as long as the rest of the image, making it hard to believe. Spooge does wonders with this, his eyes are incredible (his pictures, I've never seen his)

2)
Look at real people, find actors or models who have gruff, thin faces, and see how their faces work.

3)
Look at solid snake, and don't feel bad about copying some sketches down. You won't be cheating if you fill the picture with your own style. This way, it will be your omage to the man, but infused with YOUR look. This way you'll avoid the "this week, solid snake will be played by...Samo Hung.."

I really hope this helps, and of above all:
"Again, please, correct his face to a more realistic human face, " DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF DRAWING REAL PEOPLE.
Your knowledge will increase 10 fold, and you'll have no troubles later.
Happy.

Thank you guys ALOT ALOT ALOT, but i have another question though, what about the shape of his face, is it correct? like the cheek bones, the chin the nose and stuff?

btw, his eye took me less than 1 min, thats the easiest part and the best lookin part of the pic.

Actually the eyes don't really fit with the rest of the portrait. Also, they are a little misproportioned and he looks cross-eyed. Look closely at Isric's corrections. He practically drew the eyes for you. By the way, when you do a portrait of a comic book or video game character you might want to keep it simular to the original concept. I'd never have guessed this was solid snake. Don't take this as me fussing.. just trying to help out.

tip: if you're trying to learn how to draw the human face, work from life, or if necessary from photos. don't work from modeled characters in a video game. those characters are made up of polygons, unlike real humans, and in many spots the features are placed on top of a flat surface. you'll get all screwed up if you work from a game character.
