I was wondering how you peoples go about making stuff look all shiny like and pretty? example: The pic entitled Tempest by Mr. Dhabih. The cape in that looks almost plastic-like... Me wanna do that! Is it a layer effect or some sort of advanced... something or other... hehe.. Thankees!

That's no more a layer effect or "advanced something" then the drawing of the face... that, my rather newbie friend, is called "skill."

Check out Dhabih's tutorial section. It goes step by step over how he gets those effects. It basically has a lot to do with using the dodge and burn tools in Photoshop.

Try choosing a soft brush and set its blending mode to "Overlay"....

That's all the skill you need....
