Hi there.
I've tried to incorporate the various comments and suggestions that people posted regarding the last version I put up. Sijun.com is becoming something of an addiction, so I've decided to take a short break whilst I work on some new stuff. The thing is, I often put work in progress pics up here but never take time to finish them! Anyway, I'll drop by on the forum now and again to offer any crits etc and to see what the you guys are up to.

ceenda, that's solid. I really like that pic...The Nautilus looks like it's been on a really long voyage to get to whatever distant place this is, and is covered in corrosion because of the journey...Great job.

This is a really complex shape, it might help to build a model like this really fast. Most of it is flat. You can project out pretty easily in your 2-d program.
I want to do a pic of this ship at dock at the secret island |

This is one hell of a pic though! Lovely background!
Critique:
-Hey? Wasn't the Nautilus made of iron instead of wood?!?!
-The water which is """bouncing""" at the Nautilus looks like soft hair...maybe you can look at Mergatroids new pic how he made "such bouncing" water...

Thanks for all the comments, it seems a lot of you approve of the final version.
spooge: I think that Harper Goff's incredible design for the Nautilus (Disney) really set the standard for how we interpret Verne's ship. I assume that's the version you've got going in Maya there ! Did you see the version that they designed for the recent TV film version with Michael Caine? I didn't like the series at all but the Nautilus design was kinda cool. It looks a bit the horse shoe crabs you get on the South coast (of England). By the way, as I recall, the Nautilus dock at the secret island is in a huge darkened cave - I can't wait to find out what you have in mind!
Lange_Pisang: Now that I think about it, it does actually look like wood panels on the side of the ship. It's meant to be corroded a iron/copper mix but I knwo what you mean. The detail on the water is a bit lacking as well. Thanks for the crits.
