Hey ho, welllll I wanted to try out drawing a underwater picture, since I had not done that before (cept some small speed pic thingy) and this is how it came out.
The sub is kind of futuristic, didnt use any reference for the sub (obviously looks like a hybrid of a shark & a spaceship)
The sub is on a deep level, so no sunray-reflections.
Ack I really suck at painting fishes, tried looking at some reference, but it went blah.
Oh yeah, thanks Frost, for some helpful feedback! =)
It's done in Photoshop & painted at the res you see here. And well, how did I do, how did I do?!

Looks pretty good. I like the way you make the smaller craft look like its moving. Hrmm....but something about that big sub looks a bit strange.. I can't figure it out though. Think it might be because the back of the sub looks more defined than the front... other than that.. i like it a lot. BTW, try to paint within the canvas... hehe can see you went outside into the black area

That's awesome. I think the perspective on the big sub is a bit off in the front, but other than that, it looks great.

Great pic Binke. The glowing lights really make it work and give it a real 'underwater' feel, as if thay're illuminating countless microscopic floating particles.

Beautiful.

appriciate the comments!

Eviltoylet: Woops, I guess I went outside the canvas there ehum..Hm.. yeah I dunno, I didnt know what more to add to the front.
Golongria: Uhm, this is the full res, it is a dark blue pic, but I can see all the details, maybe adjust brightness/contrast? I know my own gamma is a bit forked but oh well.
Tinusch: Thanks! I don't know I asked Frost about the perspective, and it looked ok I guess =)
psiburn: Aye, I think the lamps really added the effect. thanks.
nori, rdgraffix: Gracias heh, although I dont think the fishes turned out that well.

And sorry if the pic is too dark

looks very nice Binke, like said earlier, you are improving like hell.

Comments,
You should try to add some small detail variation to the sub and maybe some small lights or something to make the sub marine seem alot bigger.
Also, remove the fishes, they are cute, but makes you feel that you are inside a fish bowl more than in a open big sea. And, maybe also remove the ground you've made, it makes the whole setting a bit small, instead, make a ground further away, like if the submarine was far more above the ground. Maybe with some really vague mountains behind, so you really get that "epic" feel to it.

Agree ? Or not

Anyway, very nice work !

Joachim: Thanks! Great comments & suggestion, I agree a 100% on that! Actually the first version, did not have any closeup fishes, nor did it have a seaground, because I wanted it to look, like it was down very deep down you know. But I sent it around to a few people on my icq, and most of them thought that a seafloor & some fishes would be cool.
I will remove those blah fishes & try adding some vague background mountains instead, thanks again!
Frost: Thanks, your comments on ICQ was very helpfull! Hope I dont disturb you too much haha

Keep the fishes, but just make it look like they are fleeing from the subs. that'd look cool
great image... try and make the sub on the right (our right) look like its moving more.. thats what your going for right? and how about some plants? we wouldent want those fishies to die would we? put some coral, that'd be really cool dude. great image.
